Oh bullshit Bernstein...like he's not rooting for the Heat. He's been sucking LeBron's stem so hard that I'm surprised his protein levels haven't tipped the scale. And then there's Goff...milking Bernstein's teat like a typical puppet.

NBA Finals average through 3 games: 11.4
NCAA Championship game: 12.3

Which one is the dying sport?

Goff in regards to Breen....Stop trying to feed the stupid?? Maybe he's actually pointing out legitimate issues that are affecting NBA play and outcomes. Everyone's thinking it because it's true. Whenever it's common knowledge that a sport plays favorites to star players, you're going to have to issues in regards to officiating - this is not hard to believe.

I suppose Goff would rather have Breen not say anything and tow the company line like Goff does on B&B.

My guy!

Also, NCAA championship game had about 8 million more viewers. NBA gets inflated ratings based on being on television with no competition and less people watching.

Help me out here for a second. What competition does the NCAA have that the NBA does not have? Just asking.

Quick SHARK alert. The WSOX General Manager will be on soon with a "State of the Sox" report. Keep your Philco's on WSCR to hear what the big guy has to say.

Alan Iverson was a better player than Dr. J.

Discuss.

Whatever ABC, NBC, and Fox are showing. The ratings number is a measure of how many people that are watching television currently are watching your product. So, if ABC is showing Dancing With The Stars they'll add more to the total pool and lower ratings for everyone. The NCAA tournament does it too to others. The 20 million people that watch it gives them around a 12 rating. The 11 million that are watching the NBA give them around an 11 rating because others are showing reruns or shows that aren't really watched by many people.

Dan Bernsetin: Giant Pussy.

Now you're gonna start making cracks about programming other people's shows? Mac was in the same room and you couldn't backtrack quick enough.

Cuntbag whore.

Big man Bernstein taking a stab at McNeil at the end of the show, knowing full well he won't be listening. What a pussy! Then there's Goff giggling at the comment like a little girl (big man, don't forget what show you guest host on), and sadly, Danny's boy Terry is mocking him as well - quite a friend.

I do think McNeil got a stray hair up his ass during transition but regardless, after Bernstein cowered and whimpered under Danny's scrutiny, apologizing and claiming ignorance, he now comes back at the end of the show to deliver a shot..? What a dick and what a pussy!

Now bring on Larry!!! What a fucking station.

That was chickenshit and lame Bernstein!

Maybe someone can call Mac tomorrow and let him know.

Honestly, are you looking just at the final game held on Monday night or more than that? It seems that sports fans would be more apt to watch sports. Therefore, I would posit there are people watching/fans that chose the US Open over NBA who under different circumstances would have chosen NBA.

It's just a function of the summer. Way, way fewer people are watching TV in the summer. That's why networks typically end their seasons then.

Every sport is dying except for the sports I really like. It's a rule.

Seriously, hasn't literally every single fucking major sport been declared dead or dying in the past decade or so?

NFL: brain injuries

NCAAF: playoff angst and/or paying players (more) money

NBA: lockout stuff, shady refs

NCAAB: No talent

MLB: not as popular any more, steroids, talent too watered down

NHL: lockout, poor ratings/attendance in general

Golf: Tiger bangs chicks, bangs tree with car, is not great at golf

tennis: no Americans so no one cares

boxing: always dead no matter how many people watch PPVs

horse racing: Fatal injuries, no triple crown. Always dead even though more people watch the three hours of Belmont preview than championship games in other sports

soccer: never born (will be declared "dead" soon because of brain injuries though)

I don't get this strange impulse that whenever anything bad happens in a sport we all have to rush to declare it forever doomed.

They track total numbers too. It's also been pretty consistent with a million or so in any direction for years.

Ratings in the summer are always inflated because less people watch television. If you put the NBA finals on the same day of the Super Bowl or the Emmys, even if every person still watched, it probably would get a 3.0 rating.

The NBA finals average 10-13 million. This is about what the second weekend of the NCAA tournament does in prime time. The NCAA basketball final gets over 20 million.

In fairness, Game 7 of the NBA basketball finals can approach 20 million, though it's been incredibly rare to do it since Jordan left the Bulls.

Miss a little, miss a lot. I should have known Lil' Danny Douchebag would wait until Mac was in NW Indiana and not listening to take a shot at him. What a coward. I'm def. texting/sexting/emailing the Mac show tomorrow to tell him to listen to the podcast, although I'm sure he is reading this board right now or will sometime tonight.

Was the "shot" worth a podcast?

The "shot" was subtle but poignant. The timing was what was most telling. Goff's laughter was irritating and Terry's agreement was disheartening because you know Danny respects and likes Terry, and obviously longs to have that radio relationship back some day. Terry has mailed it in and is now Bernstein's lap-dog, like everyone else on that show. He couldn't give two dirty shits about McNeil, or anything else for that matter.

I'll take Mac's ALS vs. the bernstein boys any day of the week. Hell, I bet the Gridiron Assassin could single-handedly take on Ten Foot Midget, Maddux Boy, Unemployed Lawyer, and Gary from Evanston. It would be like when Little Bill kicked the shit out of English Bob. "Gary, you been talkin' about the Ponderosa and the Expos again? On Independence Day?"

Listening to transition and then the end of the show now. How on earth can Bernstein take a shot at Mac for using his show to talk about fatherhood?

Bernstein is and always has been a gutless Caller Bob. an English major with a big vocabulary, doesn't make him smart, just wordy. His sports knowledge is minimal, and he's lived his life as a cowardly pussy. He's a nothing and no one really respect him. Hell, even his neighbors know he's an
asshole.

Hope Mac kicks his ass again tomorrow.

BTW, Goff is a talentless hack who truly knows nothing as he proves everyday.
