You guys will be the same ones saying "The 5th place team got screwed(probably an undeserving Boise State). This is as bad as the BCS!".

In reality, the only option better than the old BCS was a 16 team playoff. Maybe by 2030 that will happen.

I'm not sure that the Big East is any better than where they were before.

The SEC is locked in to at least one team in this every year. Most years, they will get two.
The Big Ten, Pac 12, and Big 12 will be good enough to provide the other two or three teams.

I don't think the proposed 4-team playoff in college football would become reality until the BCS/ESPN contract expires in 2014. The aggravation will probably continue until that day does come.

It really should be 16 teams anyways. It would still be one of the most exclusive playoffs out there given that there is anywhere between 70-110 teams competing for it.
