All Sox hating aside....this is a good trade. You are getting a highly motivated guy whose basement is still better than what you had at 3rd and his ceiling is extremely high. He won't be the miserable piece of shit he has been in Boston this year.

This is a great move by the White Sox. You give up basically nothing, have the Red Sox pay most of his salary and even if Youkilis plays exactly the way he was playing for Boston, would still be a massive upgrade at 3rd base. Plus I think with a new environment you will see him improve his play.

Kind of surprising this is all Boston could get....unless the scouts see something we don't.

Nice move by the Sox. Youk can't be any worse than what they have at 3rd and they only gave up two end of the bench guys.

Worse case scenario, Zach Stewart somehow gets his head out of his ass and becomes a dominant reliever and Youk's numbers don't improve. And that scenario is not really that bad.
