I walked into my apartment, I turned on the tv to find out Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and son Daniel were found dead in their home. I was now watching a Chris Benoit tribute show. I had the VCR recording the show, because I worked til 9:00. I couldn't believe what I was watching. My favorite wrestler, and his family had been murdered? Little did I know. I still have the tape of this show. I'm not sure why. I've never watched it, but can't bring myself to get rid of it. Such a sad story.

Because this was all Vince's fault, nevermind the fact that Benoit had been wrestling for years and years in WCW and ECW and Japan for all those years. Vince and HHH had a hand in Benoit killing his family.

Just read the entire thread, reliving that disturbing 72 hour news cycle. Did they ever figure out who changed Benoit's wikipedia page that night? That was creepy.

I don't think Chriss' family would win in court, just make Nancys familys case harder. Benoit had failed 3 drug tests for testosterone It was covered up. It was not all Vinces fault.Nobody made Chris abuse the drugs he did.Nobody made him do the in ring maneuvers that contributed to his mental degeneration. WWE is at fault for aided and abetting someone. They knew based on even the B.S. policy at the time he should have been suspended. But no he was due to win a belt that very weekend. Hell, if you get drunk at a bar and you leave and kill someone the bar can be sued for it. Same thing in this case.

Just read Ring Of Hell. That tells you about Benoit. He beat his brain into mush, and was so hopped up on testosterone, and pain meds, and benzos that he snapped. He's a piece of shit that was on a suicide mission, but he dragged his wife and child with him. I was a huge fan of Benoit, but I've only watched one match of his since and it was his ladder match with Jericho. He's a scumbag, and that book was the most depressing book you'll ever read.

I really may be mixing up a lot of the pointless knowledge in my head, but didn't it turn out to be some random bone-load in Australia just fucking around making shit up, and against seemingly insurmountable odds against, ending up "guessing" as close as he did. Again, I could very well be 100% completely off on this.

Regarding said thread, I understand the content backlash that followed the incident, but holy shit I'd kill for at least once a month having a night where it was TV-MA just to have a chance at seeing something bordering on entertaining. I totally agree with you. He is a piece of shit and a dirtbag. As I said he was enabled by his employers the whole time. I don't think there was testing in WCW and I know there was no testing in ECW. He failed dtug tests that according to policy he should have at least been suspended if not forced into rehab or fired for.Instead a blind eye was turned and he was allowed to continue and even rewarded for his behavior. Any place else,even in Hollywood he would have not been employable. The closest I can come to comparisons of him is Amy Winehouse,Charlie Sheen and Linsay Lohan. One is dead the other two are almost not able to get work. Sheen is on his last chance and Lohan is close to it. WWE needs to be punished for what thye allowed to happen. Not to that family but to the others who have died young.
