Turned on BnB for 5min today and heard the word rape @ least 20 times in that span...

Newsflash Danny boy... Its not a good strategy to repeat such a vile word so much as to watch it lose the deserved negative connotation...

Bernstein has lost his fucking head... If there really is child sex trafficking going on just say it you fucking coward. It is truly an unjustifiable amount of attention this chicago radio station is giving the penn state fiasco.

Bernsy needs a serious vaca... That's all Im saying. The guy needs to relax, and come back refocused. This wannabe inside edition news anchor bullshit is not cutting it. Especially when they're still mixing in molestation jokes... Life fail.

Goff and Drinky razzing him about buying expired "end meats" was pretty funny today, though - I'll give 'em that.

Maybe its just me, but I don't laugh @ that shit. Comedians don't even go in like that on the child abuse humor... Its off putting. Especially now that I know to expect it from this show...

I think it's funny how they keep pushing for Penn State to not have football anymore.

They shouldn't get rid of it altogether, but suspending the program is necessary.

What is the benefit of suspending them? You put a bunch of teams in a bad position that had nothing to do with the situation. Pretty much everyone who was involved in it is in jail, dead, or facing criminal charges. It's stupid to blame the fans for what happened and even if they were at fault it wouldn't teach them a lesson.

A post season ban for 2 years, scholarship reductions and no Big Ten Network money for a year(donated to a child protection charity) would be much more effective and fair than suspending the program.

The Feds and victims are going to deliver the biggest punishment as they should.

It's the principle of it. This whole institution covered up systematic child rape because everyone was scared of derailing the Success With Honor gravy train. It has to be more than just Paterno and a few higher-ups. So choke the program out. Make an example of them to everyone else: if you're going to cover up atrocities because all you care about is making money on football, we'll drop the hammer. I mean, they destroyed SMU football for far, far less than this. I'm not even advocating two years! Just one year with no football and no football revenue. Surely they can withstand that, can't they? You're inching toward it by taking away the postseason and Big Ten Network money. Why not go all out?

To give you a quick idea of what the BTN and football money would cost I give you Penn State revenues from the twitter universe...

Ben Jones ‏@Ben_Jones88

In terms of total revenue in the 2010-11 year, Penn State generated $116,118,029. 37% of that from football. 16% from donations. 14% the BTN

You don't go all out because you would be punishing other 8 Big Ten teams, 4 of whom that would lose a home game with almost no shot of replacing it, and 4 other schools who are scheduled to play them in the non-conference schedule.

Penn State has a much bigger punishment coming to it from the Feds and the civil suits. The fans are not at fault here. They are no more or less fanatical about the team than 100s of other fanbases around the country. You really think that the Steelers or Packers don't have a similar level of adoration for the team?

Making a punishment that punishes other teams who didn't have that happen doesn't really fix or change anything. A 4 year bowl ban would be better than shutting down a season, and have much more of an impact.

I don't really understand kill the program? What about the other sports teams? Players and new coaches having had nothing to do with this? NCAA governs recruiting and all the other "sports" things. The various levels of government handle crimes and civil courts handle those coming lawsuits. Why is it so hard to understand that anyone involved in this is either gone or soon will be. The University and individuals will lose a ton of money.

Someone else already pointed this out, but: since you switched avatars, I've been mentally reading all your posts in the Larry voice, which is alternately hilarious and disturbing.
