Someone who visited NYC said they paid $35 for a bagel and coffee. Does the price ring a bell as to the place?

While anything is possible, I haven't ever heard of this and can't imagine it being true unless we are talking about one of the party size bagels they sell.

Most of the famous deli's have really expensive sandwiches but that's because they give you enough for 2 or 3 people. My wife and I split a sandwich at the Carnegie Deli and I think the bill was about $25 with drinks. I doubt that some place could sell a $32 bagel that would be popular unless it had a nice steak inside of it.
