He walked earlier. And this is a by product of continuing to bench his ass against lefties -- makes him push too hard to "perform" against righties.

Sveum loves the all righty lineup against lefties. All that does is allow the pitcher to get in a groove. I hate it.

That's normal. Especially in a season where there is nothing else to care about.

Media people addressing fabricated excitement is really fucking lame.

Its total bullshit. Even going back to Patterson.
Whst people say Cub fans think is usually 50 times exaggerated.

The Media is the hype machine, not the fans

With that said, after watching these 3 at bats Its pretty clear he IS a Savior who will likely be better than Stan Musial

Even when the pitcher is struggling against lefties!

Shades of Dusty trying to use Remlinger vs lefties even though his numbers were waaaaay better against righties

Not only is he having a good game he walked across the Mississippi river on his way from Iowa and cured cancer AIDS herpes and the common cold before arriving at Wrigley.

He also brokered peace in the middle east to be announced tomorrow.

Why did Davis get tossed?

Rizzo has made a couple nice plays at 1st and looked very smooth in the field. His first hit was a questionable ruling by the official scorer, but definitely a hard hit ball. Just missed a HR in his 3rd (think it was his 3rd) at bat. Is it just me that has noticed David Wright's throws from 3rd look pretty weak? I've seen him lollipop several throws tonight. I have to wonder if he has something wrong with his arm? Maybe just some soreness...

If you can win a game started by Randy Wells then you can win any game.

Frankie De La Cruz has actually been pretty good in Iowa and he started tonight which would make it an easy switch.

You're always so negative. I'm looking at the schedule, and I can't find 10 more losses. You must be predicting another Marmol collapse or something.

Hell, give me Rodrigo Lopez at this point. Wells post game comments confirm he is toast mentally.

Nice to see the kid have a solid debut. Hopefully he proves out.

Best part of the night was he looked comfortable at 1B. Made every play that came his way.

The kid is big, but I think needs some muscle to be the power hitter many think he is.

Was also very patient at the plate.

Might have what they said they have.

GET THE STATUE READY!

Am I the only one who thinks Travis Wood may be a decent pitcher?

He's been a little up and down but I like his promise.

I think Ricketts persuaded Kerry to retire as a cost cutting move. They didn't want to pay for the initials to go with Wood on the back of the 2 jerseys.

You mean there's not a statue yet?

I thought they retired his number already.

He has been a better than decent pitcher at the MLB level in his past. I think he is a legit starting rotation guy if he can handle it mentallly.

And now the media is overblowing the fans reaction to the Cubs winning, and Rizzo's performance. It never ends.

Every single Cubs fan knows this team isn't good. No one thinks Rizzo changes that. Having an exciting player that makes the team more fun to watch, doesn't mean Cubs fans are predicting World Series.

Fun bit of baseball trivia, it was 52 years ago yesterday when Ron Santo made his Cubs debut.

Rizzo looked like he belonged which is all you can ask for. Took a good amount of pitches, hit a couple of balls really hard, played a decent enough first. No complaints about his debut.

The only thing this means is the the Cubs now have a 2nd player on the roster that will be around when this team is ready to compete. What media is overblowing this? Fucking Kaplan?

Just have to ignore it at this point

I'm very interested to see how he does against a pitcher with velocity. With his hands so low and close to his body I want to see how he gets to an inside fastball. He must have lightning quick hands.
