DVR'd the season premiere last night and will be viewing this evening. It's always been appointment TV for me. Anyone else a fan?

Did he have a show on HBO? If so I can't figure out why that didn't work but this did. Maybe
I am thinking of the wrong guy. I didn't watch it so I am as much to blame as anyone. If I am
way off base here I apologize.

Edited because I misread your comment.

I don't recall him having an HBO.

He did. It was called Life With Louie or Lucky Louie. It wasn't that good. It just didn't seem authentic at all.

You are correct. He was not funny on that. Head over the 'tube and watch some of his material. Maybe it's not for you, but he has a large following.

He wrote and directed Pootie Tang, I think. He's always been a favorite of more established comedians.

Wow, I never knew that. I love that flick. Great "bad" movie.

Me neither. Maybe I'll get around to watching that after all .... best argument 'for' that I've heard yet.

I think he wrote a lot of Chris Rock's material as well back in the 90's.

Funny, Seinfeld gave Louis CK a big break in standup by having him open for him on tour.

Louis and other standups really revere Seinfeld as a standup.

I've seen Louis several times live, but never Seinfeld.

Oh I beg to differ about them revering him. Maybe they admire what he has done $$$$ and I am aware of the break.

They revere Seinfeld due to his hardwork. I know a bunch of guys that either do or try to do standup and the life kinda sucks. Travel from shit town to shit town saying the same shit every 5 days, 4 times over 2 days, then drive to....bumblefuck...do it again.

Simply put it is a tough life and there is no doubt Seinfeld put in the time, but the material as a standup was never revered.

Hedberg, while doing TV specials, not a great TV guy, but revered and look at who many consider the best ever...Bill Hicks.

Seinfeld not even in my top 10.

This show gets worse and worse every season. The season premiere was not sign of good things to come. As was the case last season, the only time I laughed was during his standup bits.

I watched it once because a friend was in the audience during the standup part and got shown on tv and have watched it a few times because I enjoyed the first time.

Anyone else notice he looks like Ryan Dempster? I've also seen Ryan's comedy act and he's funnier.
