You know... honestly... wouldn't that actually be the best place to do this? You would put those in the drug trade here a lot closer to their supply.

162 years for armed robbery is cruel and unusual. I don't think you can logically argue otherwise. Nobody in this thread has even tried beyond "Well, he committed a crime using a gun.". I think you may be right Nas.

Well, given the circumstances, what is the logical conclusion as to why he got 162 years in prison, Sherlock?

The judge must have decided his life was worthless. Hopefully that judge is reprimanded.

Well, that's a totally different argument.

However, my overall point on what to do about gun crimes still stands.

It's certainly unusual. I wouldn't go so far as to say its cruel. Cruel would be shooting dogs or shooting up a Wendy's or terrorizing people by robbing them at gunpoint.

To me, it's all about perspective. If you think jail should be solely punitive, life w/o parole for armed robbery is ok. If you actually believe in rehabilitation, it is cruel and unusual. I'm in the latter group. I'd be a bleeding heart liberal if I didn't fucking hate liberals so much.
