Just got tickets to a marathon of all three in the Nolan trilogy. Never saw either of the first two in theater so I'm jazzed.

Where at? Quad Cites? If so what Theater cuze that would be cool. Last time I did something like that was Star Wars 4,5 and 6.

This would be great. I really enjoyed Batman Begins and The Dark Knight might be in my top 2-3 movies of all time.

Rave 53 and The Putnam are both doing it on opening night. My buddy and i chose the Putnam. Pretty sure Rave is just showing it on regular screen while The Putnam is...well, you know.

It's a pretty cool promotion, but I'd probably be burnt out as hell after watching the first two. I'm gonna let the anticipation build and let the awesomeness happen without the marathon, but all the same - should be goddamn spectacular.

Dark Knight in IMAX blew my mind.

Don't need the action for TDKR to fulfill my movie-going needs. I need Jerry Angelos' nitty-grittys of the story and subtle dialogue to make this movie work.

I had never seen a movie in Imax until I saw the Dark Knight in Imax. It blew my mind within the first 2 mins of the movie with the bank robbers repelling across the buildings. The truck filipping scene was pretty freaking bad ass as well.

The only thing I do not like about the Putnam is the seats. The y are a little too steep for me. Now if the had the bar open for this ,that would be cool. The atmos at the Putnam is also very cool.
I have seen a ton of movies in Imax I don't remember my first. I do remember Speed Racer, they only good thing about it was that it was in Imax making it look awesome.

I've actually never seen a movie there...just based on what other people have told me and the description on their site, the screen puts the Rave's "IMAX" screen to shame.

Would that been an accurate assessment or are they making a bigger deal out of it?

No it is the best I have ever been too. Better than both in Chicago and the One In New Orleans.

Damn...that's pretty high praise.

One last question and I'll be done. Have you been there in the last three or four months (basically since it ceased being an "IMAX" theater and changed to the "Giant Screen Theater" or whatever they are calling it now)?

There's a small part of me that is concerned about it no longer being an official IMAX theater but I can't imagine the projection system and such just went to shit overnight because of it.

No I have not, I forgot about that. I will elaborate on what my biggest peeve is about the place. The armrests are fixed. Not like most new theaters where you can lift them out of the way. Makes it hard to really get comfortable. Damn I will have to look for reviews and see if anyone commented on the change over to non IMAX.

Thanks. I'm planning on heading there this weekend as The Avengers is finally showing there, so I'll be able to compare that presentation with the IMAX at the Rave. Hoping I'm not dissapointed.

Haven't been there yet. Will be going either Friday or Saturday.

Ok...Putnam is certainly bigger than the Rave...picture seems just as good, if not better, as well...

...however, I'm not a fan of the Dolby 3D they apparently switched to...glasses don't have a wide enough field of view for the large screen and I had double vision on the edges quite a few times.

Luckily I won't have to worry about this for the Batman marathon, but I probably wouldn't go back for a 3D movie if I have a choice between the two.

Had a few margaritas before seeing the last one. It made the ride a bit more intense.
