Sonnen fucked himself. For some stupid fucking reason he thought it was a good idea to try and throw a spinning back fist and missed totally. It's the same as him staying in Silva's guard and almost letting him triangle choke him in the first fight. Sonnen took him down at will during the first round and missed on the first attempt on the 2nd round so he thought it was a good idea to stand with him. If you're dumb enough to do that, don't be dumb enough to throw a SPINNING MOTHER FUCKING BACKFIST at THE greatest striker in MMA history.

See Kenny Florian for a prime example. The guy was a STUD until it came time for him to take the ball. He would just choke and Sonnen did the same thing tonight. Silva won the fight fair and square tonight, but not without a big assist from Sonnen himself.

I think Chael was on his way to a loss before the spinning backfist. Took some hard shots and a few stuffed takedowns shook him and he kinda went full tard with the backfist. Sonnen had his chance to do some damage in the 1st and didnt/couldnt. Chael put up a hell of a fight though. BBQ time

He had 3 missed takedown attempts and probably got rocked a bit when Anderson was holding his shorts for about 10 seconds while Chael was trying to regroup. Give Anderson his credit for winning the fight but I still can't believe Sonnen was dumb enough to try and throw a spinning back elbow.

Agree with Chris, the spinning backfist was the dumbest thing he could have done. Again, the lack of damage that Sonnen was able to do the 1st round was huge also. He couldn't do shit on the ground again. Really wish Silva had more time to beat Sonnen's ass. I really don't see a fight at 185 I want to see, involving Silva. I think Lombard might be a product of his competition. Silva is the G.O.A.T, hands down.

Sonnen had no chance in this fight..the guy fought the fight of his life int he first one while all juiced up on testosterone and still lost...Dana is a retard for not getting jones or GSP to challenge Silva sooner...make them meet in the middle and give 500k to the winner.

Jones and or Gsp haven't cleared out their divisions yet. Silva has a few times over. Can't really force a guy to fight someone 15-20lbs heavier than him if he doesn't want to either. Silva knows Jones would fuck him up as well. Nobody at LHW has a shot at Jones not Hendo nor any other guy.

yeah, Don Fry whooped a few guys asses when he was giving up 50 plus pounds..I saw Vitor Belfort knock out some 350 pound Italian dude and 30 minytes later knock out Tank Abbot both in first round..giving up 65 pounds to abbot and 150 tot he Italian.

The days of no rounds and no real weight classes have passed long ago. For it to be sanctioned by any athletic commisson that have to follow by their rules. Of course you can get the catch weight fights that the guys will sometimes set up but Anderson has already said he isn't fighting Jon Jones and GSP has too much on his plate with his recovery and a HUGE list of guys waiting in the wings to fight him at Welterweight. Silva is gonna stay at 185 for a couple more years and his next fight might be a guy like Hector Lombard if he wins his next fight. If Lombard loses, than maybe a guy like Alan Belcher would get the shot. Belcher is supposed to be fighting Bisping though in September(yet to be announced). I'm just hoping we see Silva back in the Octogan by the end of the year. I fucking hate when champions only defend their belt once a year.

Problem solved, fight in another country..the UFC was around for years before Dana and the United States got involved...most of the money is ppv anyway..the gate is chump change.
