Deadspin just released more excerpts. While they don't paint Joe Paterno in a good light, they don't really contain anything unexpected. Most people knew for a while that Paterno and others in the football program were able to keep some minor law issues quiet. It seems like quite a big leap to compare keeping a fight at a party quiet with a child molestation ring. Then again, you can have your "dream world" and I can have mine.

Personally, I am sickened by your defending of the institution of Penn State by just making this seem like it was two guys doing this. Don't be mad because I exposed your "dream world" where this was just a Joe Paterno problem. Personally, I think there is a lot of blame to go around. You just want to scapegoat Joe Paterno instead of concentrating on how the whole administrative system of Penn State is to blame.

It's pretty easy to just blame one or two guys, but you really need to concentrate on the bigger picture here WarriorDon.

Most responsible in response to your attempt to mitigate JoPa's culpablity.

They were, are and in perpetuity equally culpable for the negligence that allowed Jerry Saduskey to prey upon innocent children.

Did you miss the part earlier where I said this was a completely valid way to look at this and I am only responding to those people who seemingly want to blame Paterno MORE than anyone else but Sandusky.

So let me ask this then, if "JoPa was THE POWER at PSU" shouldn't you be blaming him more than anyone else but Sandusky?

The Freeh report is out. While Paterno is blamed, he seems to be put on equal blame as multiple other people for most of it, and in many cases they seem to concentrate more on "administrators" which would not include Paterno.

The direct blame is not blamed on Paterno for the coverup at any point in the summary I saw.
