But sliding Rozner into Boers's spot doesn't solve The Larry Problem, which, appropriately, sounds like one of the chapters in a Gladwell book.

I read that one. I think his conclusion, through a bunch of uncited sources and pop-psych jargon, was that The Larry Problem ultimately has a lot to do with race.

Rozner would be OK for baseball & hockey discussion...That's about it though.

Well, I don't know why that was a response to a joke about Laurence Holmes and Malcolm Gladwell, but yeah, you're more or less right. He's okay on the Bulls, though. I don't know/care what his college sports acumen is.

I thought Laurence was one of the voices of The SCORE's coverage of losing DePaul basketball along with RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

But we're talking about Barry Rozner! I think! Maybe! I don't know anymore.

I thought we were as well...Holmes, Rozner, Steve Rosenbloom. I'm sorry I'm giving fellow CSFMBers a headache like I am!

Danny mentioned Hunter Pence when talking about trade rumors and Larry says "underpants" in a high voice. "Hey Dan, I remember when you made a joke three years ago about saying his name fast - that is sounds like underpants. Do you like me more now? Do ya?"

Even after years of enduring Larry's speech impediment, his unique mangling of still "Daily Herald" makes me think they're about to launch into a day-by-day tribute to Harold Washington or Harold Ramis or something.

Wow.

Was that your reaction when Bernstein said the same thing of Theo Epstein and Mayor Emanuel?

God is this show brutal!!!

Does anyone else picture Laurence as 2 foot tall, sitting on Papa Bernstein's lap during the show? I just can't get the imagery out of my mind! I can just picture Dan feeding him treats (strawberries and nuts) to subdue him and keep his thoughts on Hollywood starlets, the UFC, working out, the NBC job, or anything else that comes out of his mouth, to a minimum. I also can read Dan's mind and he's now contemplating suicide.

not sure if srs but

When all the talk was about how Theo could be a fresh face for the stalled Cubs bailout negotiations, Dan asked if Theo belonged to Rahm's synagogue. Spiegel was like "dude seriously," and Dan said "hey, all politics is local." It was kind of tacky, if you ask me.

He also claimed that hiring Theo had nothing to do with baseball and everything with leveraging a stadium funding deal, and the whole proceeding had a weird "Jews gonna Jeww, brah!" vibe to it.

Not a typo, btw. The inscrutable stupidity of the CSFMB filter is nothing short of Telanderian.

I only caught 11 minutes of the show and that was plenty....as you know , I can't tolerate larry the lame..heard larry gush about really really liking the condensed schedule of the nba with 3 straight nights of tnt hoops. While agreeing with Dan about less games and and then he quickly did a 180 when Bernstein said" that would be same length of the season just less teams and less games" so basically the opposite of what the douche Larry was fawning about.

One of my worst fears has been that Dan is baiting society's dregs by going hard on the "MONETIZE EVERYTHING" tack so that some moron can circumlocutionally call him a Typical North Shore Guy or something and in so doing have the entire "don't necessarily monetize everything" side dismissed out of hand as antisemites who are pathologically untrusting of pro sports' financial decision-makers.

The counterpoint to myself would be that there was none of this to the Penn State talk and their hillbillies went that way anyway.

At the risk of sending up the BRick signal, part of that is normal college-fan gomer provincialism (he also went at PSU a lot harder). That said, I certainly don't attribute the lack of nibbles on the Epstein stuff to the tolerant nature of our local citizens. Anytime you can honestly describe a radio meme as "circumlocutional," the average listener starts missing the point. As bonkers as this sounds, Dan is sometimes too smart to troll properly.
