Your hatred of Kerry Wood clouds your judgement.

Bill James knows a little bit about baseball. I mean, Im pretty sure he's not mentally handicapped.

I would like your posts a lot more without using the words retarded or sissy (to describe gay marriage)

Just my take. Dismiss it if you want.

Dismissed, Bill may be a genius but he is very wrong about this..in his own theory Wood could have given up another 3 hits and a run and still had a "better game" than many no hitters..it is completely flawed.

And some people accept "irregardless." Are you going to use that one, too?

For all intensive purposes, perfects games are better than the 20K game.

No, its not flawed. Unless you think overvaluing pitcher's strikeouts is a flaw.

I assume you think K's are just like any other out?

Its just a different interpretation. No one hit the ball well of Wood that day. Not one.

Cant say that about most perfect games or no hitters.

Juje not lest ye be Jujed

And you shouldnt dismiss the advice about the terms you use here. Its solid advice.

Rick, my hatred of you has nothing to do with this.

You know what else you can't say about any pitcher who has thrown a perfect game? That they hit a batter.

Wood was great, but not perfect.

So you would take AJ Burnett's 11 walk no hitter over the Kerry Wood game then?

I think you are dismissing the pressure that grows with each inning and nobody is going near you or talking to you..the crowd is going nuts.

Wood was great, but not perfect.

Im comfortable being on the Bill James/Strikeouts mean more side of the argument.

Wood was the most dominant ever.

Thats a valid point.

But Wood's was the most dominating regardless.

And Im sorry but you cant give up 11 baserunners and claim greatness.

of course not, you picked the worst no hitter in history...50% of the no hitters are more impressive.

I agree with Frank Costanza - any perfect game, in my opinion, is superior to Kerry Wood's game.

This is where Bill James' fancy statistics fail. Can his fancy statistics measure the pressure of pitching in a World Series game against the National League Champion Brooklyn Dodgers? No, of course not.

I am not a great genius like computer wizard Bill James, but I do know that no hits and/or baserunners is better than two baserunners.

This should be the biggest no-brainer in the history of earth. It has to be Don Larsen's perfect ninety-eight (98) pitch masterpiece in the 1956 World Series.

Ok, well you said no hitters and not perfect games, so it seems like you were saying a one hitter cant be better than a no hitter.

Speaking of one hitters...I got a mini vacation starting in 2 hours! YAY!

I was a fan of k wood for his 4 years or so the game was amazing..just not as good as perfect game or many no hitters..I think your love for Bill James is clouding your vision.

Could be.

I also think the 2 Clemens games, the Randy Johnson game and the Pedro games were better than most perfect games.
