Give LoHo credit for disagreeing with Bernstein.

Bernsie sounds completely exasperated, and if Laurence were a caller Bernsie would have started screaming by now. When something like this happens I recall the column Ted Cox wrote years ago in which he called Laurence a simpleton.

 He is so stupid tho, the things that should be clearly easy to agree with him on he cannot do so.

I can't believe this is the topic he chooses to dig in on. Good god. He finally disagrees on something, yet he chooses to disagree about a fact of objective reality.

Short answer is Dan read an article that stated Castro, at this point in his career, has a 44% chance of being a HoF. This is based off his stats at his current age, compared to similar players at the same age. That was the gist, right? Nothing saying he WILL be, but he's on a trajectory to be.

I was outside while this was on and thought "THIS is going to be your only argument this week?"

By the way, I hope Matt is right. However, I fear he's horribly wrong. Toronto is not going to include D'Arnaud in a package for Garza.

Basically, if you look at Starlin Castro stats and age in a vacuum and compare it historically to other players, there's a 44% chance he's a HOF'er. Not saying he is going to be one, Dan even said it's obviously likely he isn't.

Laurence thought this list comparison was BS and he doesn't believe Starlin is a HOF'er. And then got shouty when Dan was saying of course it doesn't mean anything, but it's a fascinating stat.

While stats say one thing about Starlin Castro, there's no guarantee he'll be at SS when the Cubs get good under this Theo Epstein/Jed Hoyer regime. Those talks about Castro eventually moving to 3B or 2B will start up again, especially when the Cubs get the "MLB on FOX" or "ESPN Sunday Night Baseball" treatment. That argument isn't going away.

Yes, Leery called it a "BS stat." Objected to it being fascinating, citing the fact that there are other considerations for the hall of fame. In short, his stance basically didn't make any sense.

Yeah, well Bernsy pretty well shoved it up his ass in that exchange.

Starlin is more likely to be a HOF'er because he is a Cub. They have a lot of undeserving hall of famers already. Why not add another?

Jeter's two most famous plays (in Greg's opinion) are the dive into the stands (bloody chin) and when Jeremy Giambi served it up on a platter. I can't think of many near his position that stick out.

Juan Uribe's dive into the seats was better.

This show, my goodness, not good at all.

It makes tears fall from the castles around my heart.

If The SCORE's own, Pro Football Weekly/Westwood One/Dial Global Radio Network's Hub Arkush, wants to start Laurence's show right now, I'm all for it...
