SAAB had a very loyal and very niche following. They were never a volume brand, at least not in North America, but they were profitable.

Assuming they stick around, this is the brand I will support with each new auto purchase.

Yeah, I was *this close* to trading in my '07 9-3 for the Turbo X, and then I got my driving privileges put on hold, which dashed those aspirations.

Not sure, I think you may be confusing the recently introduced AWD version of the 9-3. The Turbo X was a one time thing- a 2008 special edition of which only a handful were produced.

I love my car like I would my children, but wouldn't hesitate for a moment to swap it for that. Everything about the above picture is pure.

I might be an awful parent one day.

Funny that they used the same language that alcoholics use.

My 7th grade science teacher referred to her Saab at least ten times per week.

That article says that 2002 Sonics are being recalled. How could someone drive a car without brake pads for nine years?

Is GM trading today?

I know there has been some confusion as to how the stock market works and whether or not a stock that averages 8 million trades a day could be sold

Someone here actually questioned whether or not you could get the stock sold!

No the person clearly wrote

That's if you can get it sold, I dont see many people wanting to buy the stock at that price.

At which point it was pointed out that something like 12 million people bought it that day.

But whatever. We cant all be stock market experts.

No that is not at all what happened. You stated two different times that the stock wasnt worth the price it was trading at.

You gave an example using your car.

Anyways, revise the history all you want. Have fun!

I know you aren't confrontational any more but do you not understand that the Chevy Volt is not designed to make any money at all this year or likely the next few years?

How many US dollars have come back from the bank bailout? Just askin. I don't see threads screaming about that one.

Which is very possible at the moment.
It won't be cancelled though the technology may be transformed into something else. I guess someone could invent a hydrogen car tomorrow that made it obsolete but primary electric cars aren't going away.

However, let's say they cancelled it two years down the road. It still was absolutely the right choice to attempt. GM originally stated the development costs of the Volt would be around $750 million. Let's double that for total cost up until today. That's $1.5 billion over a few years. GM expects to have sales of about $150.3 billion in 2012. In 2011, they had a profit of $7.6 billion. This is in a recovering economy too.

$1.5 billion is nothing to them with the upside that is the Volt. They take in 100 times that every year, and if things continue as they are that will raise.

Not a bad investment for something that could literally be the future of the company.

TARP has been profitable for the government.

The government may lose a little bit of money on the GM bailout, but it was worth it and was clearly the right choice.

GM Recalls 413,418 Chevy Cruzes Because They Might Burst Into Flames

Chevrolet is on fire this year, literally. After a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into Chevy Volt battery fires, the bowtie is in the hot seat again, this time for its so far much lauded 2011 and 2012 Cruze models.

There's a problem with the engine cover where if oil leaks onto the hot exhaust pipe, the plastic cover catches fire. Chevrolet, eager to hang on to its recent J.D. Power & Associates award for build quality, issued a recall for 413,418 cars, encouraging Cruze owners to avoid fiery death and have the problem fixed for free at any Chevrolet service center.

Chevy Runs Deep®
Live Better®
Engine Bay Fire Guaranteed®

The aerodynamic under-body panel is the culprit. If an oil change is done in a sloppy fashion some oil can build up on the inside of the panel, the engine exhaust or general heat then causes problems. It isn't a mechanical engine problem.

I'm pretty sure its just for the U.S. model as that under-body engine cover is U.S. spec.

I predict that the the share price will raise after the IPO and stay there for a long time. I will bump this in the future and we can see who was right. I'll admit I was wrong if the IPO price ends up being the high price that it ever gets. I expect you to do the same if it isn't.
Yeah, I admitted I was wrong about that a while ago. What is your point?

Well, maybe get your facts straight before you say something? "You said you would bump it in the future. You never did." is factually incorrect and it was really easy to look it up.

I do have to laugh at this thread. IMU picks one of the few times I've admitted I was wrong to call me out for not admitting I was wrong. That's pretty unlucky.

Just wait...the Cruze seems like a prime candidate for some ugly JDM conversions once the used prices drop a bit.

I think the Cruze is a sharp looking car, if I see some turdface ruin an exterior with non-functional aero tack-on's I will probably run them off the road.

 I inferred that your comment was saying that with the "never bumped it comment". However, if you want me to take it literally, am to believe that you did not remember me posting in this thread since I made that last comment? I guess you have a poor memory.

Now, we all know that you meant I never addressed my wrong prediction, but if you want to do what IMU does then go for it.

In the future, if you are going to say someone didn't do something, check to make sure you aren't completely wrong.
