Saunders has to be traveling to Boise. The SS they have in tonight can't hit and has 3 errors already.

Gretzky got pulled after 2 ab's. He hasn't done shit this season so far.

I would have no problem with that. He is a 4 year polished collegiate player at SS but they seem to be trying him all over the place. He projects to be at 2b but why not try him out all over the place when you can.

Dewitt is still awful. His average has dropped below .150 and yet he is still blocking a roster spot in AAA from someone.

The Saunders hit train is back on the tracks with 2/3 so far tonight. Vogel hit another bomb last night that I forgot to note.

I guess I should have waited until the end of the game. Saunders is 4-5 with a bomb and 5 rbi......average is back to .500

His presence in the AZL is a mockery to the gods of baseball.

Baez average up to .331 with an OBP approaching .400. Wonder if they will move him to Daytona before season's end.

It has been rumored that Saunders will be off to Daytona tomorrow. I can't believe they would promote him 2 levels but its awesome if true.

Vogel has walked in each of his 1st 3 at bats tonight. If teams are going to pitch around him then he needs to be bumped up as well but to Boise.

Saunders was moved to Daytona. Bijan Rademacher moved to Peoria -- another guy to watch. Trey Martin has started to heat up at Boise after a slow start after his promotion from Arizona.

His strikeout rate is 'only' 33%. Which speaks to wild swings of performance in terms of K's. Considering he had a two to three week stretch where he had 2-3 K's a game.

I can't believe that they would keep Saunders in Daytona as strictly a bench player. He is probably filling in until the rest of the promotions/demotions/releases shake down and then he will end up playing 2nd and or 3rd in Peoria.

The Cubs have signed Dominican right-hander Juan Carlos Paniagua to a contract with a $1.5MM signing bonus, reports Ben Badler of Baseball America. This is the third time that Paniagua has signed a contract with a Major League team, with the first two signings (in 2011 with the Yankees and in 2009 with the Diamondbacks under the name of Juan Carlos Collado) both resulting in one-year suspensions due to problems with fraudulent documentation. Paniagua lists his date of birth as April 4, 1990, the same as he did in his previous two MLB contracts.

The $1.5MM bonus will count against the Cubs' international spending cap for the 2012-13 period, as Paniagua was signed after the July 2 deadline for international signings. Paniagua is the latest in a series of notable Latin American signings for the Cubs under the Theo Epstein/Jed Hoyer regime; Chicago has added Jorge Soler and Gerardo Concepcion, plus Frandy de la Rosa at the July 2 deadline.

Let's see if that is his real name this time.

I'm not crazy about it hitting the 2013 cap, but we'll see.

Saunders just got his first Daytona RBI. He started off 0-6 but has hits in his last 2 AB's.
