Last night Hub was in for Larry, and he conducted a text poll to see if people wanted to do Hater Wednesday. The overwhelming vote was NO!!!!! They wanted more Bears talk instead. He ended up doing Hater Wed anyway and only got 2 callers! No wonder there's no sponsor!


This is a huge repudiation of this crap idea that sports radio shouldn't be just sports but "What guys talk about." Gay! If I wanted guy talk, I can talk to guys. I tune into the Score to hear Sports talk.

Truth be told, Hub Arkush simply wasn't prepared to do "Hater Wednesday". Hub isn't Laurence Holmes, and nor should he be for that matter. When Hub has an airshift on The SCORE, such as was the case last night, guests are not far behind when Hub is hosting.

While Jason Goff did another Holmes nighttime show bit in "Ask Herb" Tuesday night, Goff was prepared to do it and I thought he did a nice job with SCORE Producer Herb Lawrence.

SHARK wasn't lying. Hub wasn't prepared to do "Hater Wednesday" last night. Pure & simple. I bet it returns in 2 weeks when Laurence likely returns to his own nighttime show, not to mention a Twins/White Sox matinee that afternoon, too.

Count me amongst those who don't give a crap about Herb Lawrence or anything he does.
