What a stinking sack of shit this was. First of all I was against the idea from the get go once they said it took place between the 4th and 5th book. They specifically said in the 5th book that nothing of importance happened and that they just walked for a long time. I would like to think a combination hurricane/blizzard hitting them would be a big deal.... Whatever.
The whole premise sucks though. It is another book where you dont really hear from Eddie, Jake and Susanna. Roland is telling a story from his past, normally I would be all for that because I really like Wizard and Glass and that was the whole book. The problem is that the story he tells is only like a quarter of the book. While he is telling the story of his past, he goes into a story he tells someone in the story and it is just pointless crap with a few DT things mentioned in passing... Maerlyn, Marten, the Crimson King.
Total money grab to sucker idiots like me into reading another DT book. If he really wants to do it start writing prequels that deal with his first ka-tet and the downfall of Gilead. Please no more of this fucking garbage. Someone needs to speak with King dan-dihn.
