Then they should host a show together, possibly called Dans Are Doin' It For Themselves.

I dont think they would be good together. Unlike boxing, I dont think contrasting styles makes for a great radio show. When they do transition together its uncomfortable more often than not.

I don't think it's that uncomfortable when they do transition. As for whether a "Dan & Dan Show" would work with Mac & Bernsy together, I say no.

Bernsie taking over the lead, 13-11. Thats somewhat surprising to me.

I think if you do this poll 3 years ago Mac gets 70%+ of the vote. If you do it 6 months ago, Bernsie gets 70%+ of the vote. Mac needs to give consistent effort at least the rest of 2012. I think the audience in general has been pretty lenient/tolerant about his "vacation" earlier this year,

If Mac were still on ESPN Radio, I bet it would be a larger margin in his favor.

Why is it surprising? A daily look at the board activity has sown for quite awhile that the B&B show threads get way more activity than show threads for Mac and Meat. When Mac posts here personally he gets a lot of activity, but on an daily basis B&B carries things.

True, but a good amount B&B posting is by people who proclaim to hate and never listen.

Becoming more sure about my theory that Mac is appealing to a larger audience, but Dan's audience is much more loyal.

Because people constantly bitch about Bernstein. People dont constantly bitch about Mac, and many people have praised Mac recently. When Mac faced Bernsie heads up he beat him almost every time, and I dont think their partners swayed the ratings much either way then. Because of that and other factors, I always thought Mac was more popular than Bernstein. I didnt think opinion swayed that much recently.

Id like to reiterate, McNeil is Caddyshack and Bernstein is Rushmore. Both funny in a different way.

Really? That seems counterintuitive to me. I like Bernsie in general and think he covers a wide range of topics when he wants to, but I'd pretty much give Mac a listen no matter what medium he decided to try broadcasting from. I wouldnt think to give that attention to Bernstein. This goes back to RPB's point about missing Bernsie. I think Bernsie is very replaceableable. Basically be a cynical smartass jerk and have good oratory skills and you can be at least 80% of Dan B. I dont think Mac's persona is as easy to duplicate.

I dont consider them real people. It's like counting JimmyReardon or HOVA when polling the feelings CSFMB'ers about the President.

Not enough cock talk in Caddyshack. Maybe Porky's? Stuck in the past and obsessed with peckers. Plus Porky's is maybe
the most successful Canadian film of all time. Strange Brew's another candidate.

I voted Mac but my vote is biased to the HFC days, when I was a whelp and would listen in the car with my old man, and the MJH show that I listened to every day on my commute home from my first "real" job. My exposure to Dan is much more prevalent considering they are the afternoon show I hear on the way home and I can't listen to Mac's new show since I am usually working and won't stomach Spiegs' smarm.

With Mac I think as a listener you feel you could sit down and have a drink with him and bullshit about sports. That appeals to more people than Bernstein's over-analytical, zero emotional investment response to athletic events. I know Bernsie claims to get all meatball-y when he is watching games by himself. But he's just not a guy most people could see themselves being friends with. He's not a bad guy, per se, just not likeable. Plus, Mac is candid with his human failings and always seemed honest over the radio. Dan B. will always revert to the "bit defense" when someone calls him out for being an incessant jagbag. "That's our show and if you don't like it don't listen." Well, where's the real Bernstein then? Is it all some neo-Borscht Belt act?

I'd take Mac. I think he's a lot funnier, and overall more entertaining. He gets what sports radio is supposed to be. Characters questions are valid when building a franchise around him though.

Bernstein's as funny, but in a different way. It'd be pretty close, but Mac is far, far lazier. Like, an order of magnitude more lazy. At least Bernstein makes a point of showing up.

Mac in his cocaine fueled prime when the most important thing in his life was radio was better than Bernstein's prime.

Cocaine is a PED for people paid to talk though. Im 100% serious about that.

I think part of the reason Mac's thread is down is due to the fact he is on 9-1 and not as many people listen to him compared to the afternoon drive.
That and he told us this board sucks and to all go fuck ourselves. :P
