This board is rife with musical dopes that in most cases are too young to listen to an 'album' as a presentation piece, rather than a random mish-mash of songs that they could effortlessly skip over, randomize, and so forth .... never mind that many of their 'hits' don't suffer from what I call "Def Leppard" disease, a condition where every fucking song sounds the same .... the disease did briefly mutate in the early 90s into a strain of "Spin Doctors" condition, but it was mostly wiped-out in the first world.

Just for shits and giggles, I Amazon-downloaded a 2012 Pitchfork band that received attention in Greg Kot's review of the event to see what I'm missing- Thee Oh Sees. After one spin, I would estimate that 15-20% of the album I got is listenable entirely because of Surf Rock-esque elements in the guitar (not to be confused with Beach Boys- more The Tornadoes), while the rest is what Yoko Ono's art would sound like if it were made into sounds- mated with Iggy Pop. Cacophonous. Completely worthless.

I love how "Joe Satriani" is written in small, obsessively severe caps: JOE SATRIANI. I'd bet anything it was written in the heat of passion.
