I wanted a place to talk about the happenings of the movie.

SPOILERS

Bane kicked ass in the movie and was a very dynamic character. However his death scene just seemed very anti-climatic and there could have been much more to end his chapter in the movie. Maranda Tate being Talia al Ghaul was no big shock either but still was a very interesting was to tie in the whole trilogy. Overall I really enjoyed the movie and I hope Christopher Nolan changes his mind as I love these movies.

As for Robin....keep him.

Whatever spoliers you got during the movie, don't share them here. It sounds like a foot or groin disease.

If you didn't like Robin, I'm not sure how you would enjoy another Nolan Batman, seeing as he ended it with the assumption being that Robin/Blake is Batman now, no?

JGL was good in the movie. I just feel as if Robin is the campy version of the Batman series I don't really want the series to fall into.

Robin=kinda campy
Nightwing=badass

If you read the Final Crisis books the ending in that was cool how they ending the Batman story. Infinite Crisis was even cooler.

If they do make a movie w/ the 3rd Rock kid, he'll probably be Nightwing. The series is too dark/dramatic for a cheesy ass character like Robin, boy wonder.

I want the "No Man's Land" Gotham to be the focus if they do another movie.

No Man's Land was groundbreaking cinema, quite the cast. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Okay what entrance was cooler?
Ironman in Avengers or Batman in dark Knight Rises?

So, after further research (this is what I'm calling repeat viewings now), I've been thinking a lot about the two character "twists" that were in the film: Miranda as Talia and Blake as Robin...sorta....

I don't think the former surprised anyone who's spent any time on the internet. However, I wonder how many people really knew she was Talia the first time they watched the movie. I had it set in my mind that I was certain when she made the comment to Bruce to "do what is necessary" when Catwoman helps him break Fox free. After further viewings, it's obvious that Nolan was dropping clues much earlier in the movie. From what I've counted thus far:

Tate makes a comment about "restoring balance" to Gotham...something her father says in the original...not sure where exactly she said this, but it was pretty early on.

In the stock exchange, we see the back of a woman entering and some people looking at her strange...wasn't until my most recent viewing that I figured out (I'm 99% certain) that this is Talia.

After Bruce gets a 1 UP from her, he is rubbing her back and we see a mark...look familiar? Think about the brand that Wayne was going to get after becoming a member of the league in Begins...

The first truck Gordon and his men stop doesn't have the bomb. Guess who help the gieger counter and marked it as the truck containing the bomb? Talia.

These are just the one's I've noticed. Wouldn't be surprised if there are more.

Now, onto Blake/Robin. This was one that I didn't really believe the rumors on the internet, and partially for good reason, as he isn't Robin in the traditional sidekick sense. However, going back and watching again, after the first meeting between him and Wayne where he tells Bruce he knows he's Batman, every subsequent meeting seemed to involve Bruce giving him some advice about being Batman:

The scene where Bruce's car is getting towed and Blake gives him a ride. Bruce starts telling him about Batman being a symbol of something more than a man and how he was created, in part, to protect those he cared about. Then Blake made a comment about it being good to see him (Batman) again, to which Wayne replies not everyone is happy to see him. Blake makes a bit of a strange reply: I'll figure that out later. Why would he have to figure it out, unless him and Wayne had already, off camera, worked out Blake becoming the next Batman?

When Batman rescues Blake from the gang of thugs immediately after saving Gordon, Batman makes another comment about concealing his identity, and tells Blake that if he is going to work alone, to wear a mask.

I could see myself reaching on this one, but once again I think Nolan was putting some bits in there for us to figure it out before his reveal at the end.

I don't know anything about Batman besides the movies I've seen, and I thought that Robin was going to take over Batman for pretty much the whole movie. I didn't realize he was Robin. I just thought that Batman the "symbol" would live on after Bruce Wayne retires which was setup pretty easily. I was surprised when they made it known he was Robin.

I was completely surprised when she was the true villain in this. It did seem to make sense though.

I was pissed that after seeing what a badass Bane was throughout the entire movie, he was doing it all for a girl.

Also, the movie needed way more shots of catwoman on the bat cycle.

How did Blake get that duffle bag? Was it willed to him by Bruce or something?

Yeah, during the meeting where they are going through Wayne's will, the guy mentions that smaller claims can be handled through his clerk. Blake asks if there is anything for him, she says no. Then he says to check under his legal name. She hands him the duffle bag, batcave coordinates and sperlunking gear in hand.

Two things I had a problem with. How will Robin access the cave? The only way we have seen is the Mansion and the waterfall. The mansion is sort of not usable because of the will.
The other thing was the losses on the stock market. I know it is a necessary plot device but the SEC would have nullified trades because of the messing around with the computer system.

The mansion was left to Gotham for the housing of troubled youth. I'd assume the guy Blake talked to a few times during the movie would be involved with that. This would likely get Blake access. Now, keeping it a secret, that's another thing.

As for the stock trades, I'm assuming that's why the fingerprints were needed.

Happy as a pig in shit I can finally read this thread! :D

Tim Drake is the "Red Robin" which sounds much gayer than it is. Also, the orphanage, I assume, will/would be the basis for hatching (ha!) the other versions of Robin (e.g., Nightwing).

If there's to be more movies (I thought there were going to be .... did Nolan say no?), you're going to get a shitload of Robin, but if done like these films, I'd wager you'll like it just fine.

Dr. Doom went to shit trying to talk to his long-dead mother .... I'd say that's worse, but who's gonna shit on Dr. Doom (I mean, unless he asks)?

Interesting read. Some are nit-picky, some are spot on:

#18 was a good one that I hadn't even considered while watching the movie.
