I completely get what you are saying, but Grace and Dempster should not even be in the same sentence together.

Didn't someone earlier in the thread say to IMU only people like CGS don't think he is a douchebag?

Dempster has been answering questions about possible trades for many weeks now. He gave the team a list of teams (Dodgers, Braves and Yankees were his top choices) he would like to go to. the Cubs worked out an equitable trade and then Dempster decides he will not approve the trade right away, hoping the Cubs might still be able to work a deal with the Dodgers who were his top choice. Doesn't mean he won't approve of the deal in a couple days if the Cubs can't work out a deal with L.A. It just means he is not ready to settle for 2nd choice just yet. Was he blindsided?? Well, the club should have advised him of the possible deal right away and asked for his approval before he got to the ballpark and found out there. But since it was a team he had on his list, I don't think he should have been "blindsided". Hell, he knew the team was trying to work out a deal with Atlanta as well as 4-5 other teams in the past few weeks. Eventually a deal will get done. Hopefully this move by Dempster will not mean getting a lesser player in return.

Braves GM Frank Wren says they "won't be painted into a corner and have moved on from Dempster".

Douche away!

Good for him. I wouldn't want a player that "had to take some time to think about" being on a team competing for a Championship. I'm in the Pittsburgh market so I am going to be watching the game in a few hours. I better not see his tired ass act out there on the mound today.

He is so wacky and funny. I'm glad he gets to lighten up the clubhouse for another couple months.

I hope he gets hit right in the nuts by a line drive.

Another thing that is starting to wear on me is that Swaimer seems to be just like Quade in the fact that he has no problem throwing the good young players like Castro under the bus but he defends the veterans. Treat them all like Castro. His defense of Dempster was pathetic. This team does not need another pushover players manager.

That's a trick question .... the answer is actually "All Harry Caray impersonations suck - except for Kevin Matthews' version".

The problem is that everyone imitates Ferrell's imitation.

not exactly what the dr. ordered. Threw about 30 pitches in the last inning.

Paul Sullivan ‏@PWSullivan

Dempster done after six innings, allowing three runs on five hits w/ 6 Ks. He threw 93 pitches.

What? Geniusness.

Paul Sullivan ‏@PWSullivan

Looks like Dempster was throwing cooler lid and bottle in dugout after getting removed. Not exactly a Z caliber tantrum.

I wonder if he realizes that just about everyone outside of CGS and other fans like her pretty much despise him right now.

No he is clueless. He is around other players and reporters that need to kiss ass all day so they keep reminding us how this is totally in his rights as a 10/5 guy. We know that fuckholes, it doesnt make us less pissed that he would rather stay on a losing team and has cost the team a much needed pitching prospect. FUCK HIM.

He'd probably like that so he can stay home and do his Harry Caray impersonations.

I forget which local news, sports reporter, said this last night...but he said..."cubs fans are happy that ryan dempster is still on the team". What the fuck is that??? Cubs fans are NOT happy he is on the team. He is an expendable asset that can bring back a decent (hopefully) prospect. Some fucking reporters in this town are soft & stupid!

Yeah, the older I get the more and more I side with management on everything. These guys are a bunch of overpaid entertainers. They have the audacity to bitch about having to move for 3 months when they are being paid millions. I just dont give a shit anymore to listen to players bitch. You are creating generational wealth in 10 years. Shut your fucking mouths and go with the program.

I read something similar that was like Bulls fans are ecstatic to have Kirk Hinrich back.....like wait what? I mean I don't hate Hinrich or anything but there wasn't exactly a parade to bring him back into town. Any media story about what "fans" think is usually really dumb.
