People on other social networks. Not here.
They should wait until Kenny wins yet another title this year before they say that.

Herb Lawrence:

As I have said since last season, Kenny Williams is one of, if not the best, GM in the game. Oh no you say, tell me a General Manager that is better.

Christopher Rongey was the one who said Kenny has done well "considering his resources"

Herbert of Ask Herb fame posted that Kenny was "one of, if not the best GM in baseball" then he went on to disqualify Yankee, Red Sox, Phillies and Angels GM's because of payroll and ended up disagreeing with anyone who brought up any name as being better.

Herbert is also the one who said Chris Young turned into Youkalis and Daniel Hudson is hurt right now so that trade was good.

Dont you think you need a little more than 3 post season appearances in 12 years?

Thanks Bryan and Ralphus.

Ranger and Herb are now categorized as Class-1 Morons.

Regardless of anything, a guy with two rings would need to at least be in the conversation.

You better hope with all your White Sox hating ability that Kenny doesn't deliver yet another title to Chicago.

By Herbert's rationale, anytime that Bagwell was hurt during his career, meant that was a GOOD trade for Boston

Oh, Im not giving him this year's title yet.

That would be different. 4 for 13 with two titles is worlds different than 3 for 13 with one

That was my point. All we have to do is wait for Kenny to deliver us yet another title and then we can be sure he's the best GM in the league.

Keep hating. When Kenny proves you wrong yet again it will be even sweeter.

Well 2 titles in 13 years is not as impressive as 2 titles in 10.

So I guess he'll have to win the next two.

I know but all joking aside....Sox fans are waaaaaaay bigger homers than Cub fans.

Its not even close. Which is weird because people act like the opposite is true.

Kenny- Best GM in the league
Coop- Best pitching coach that ever lived
Homerun hitters in the steroid era- 100% clean without a doubt
1 title in 95 years= Elite Franchise

This post is as bad as any "Kenny is the best GM" thought.

That just isn't true for most Sox fans. The only exception is that Frank almost certainly didn't use steroids but that's the thought around most of baseball. Frank and Griffey Jr. are considered the two guys who stayed clean. Now, maybe they actually did but that's not a Sox only thing. As for the other hitters, including Konerko, a good portion think they used something.

No, its not. Your Sox bias is coming thru in your response.

Cooper gets WAAAAY too much credit from Sox fans.
Kenny gets WAAAAY too much credit from Sox fans
Sox fans DO act like they have a great franchise (At least while arguiing against cub fans)

The fact that you act like there is NO QUESTION that Thomas was clean is just more proof.

BTW...there were posts made in the last 24 hours on this site claiming Cooper and Kenny as the best at their jobs. You have no problem using one Cub fan's thoughts against the entire fanbase. Just retruring the volley

They are a better franchise than the Cubs whether you are talking about the last 20 years or the last 2000. No one says they are an elite franchise like you said.

Yes. Thomas was clean in my opinion. This isn't a crazy opinion given what many others think that aren't Sox fans.

pretty sure most fans were looking for KW to be swept out of town with Ozzie last off season

The Sox are a second rate organization and always have been. KW should have been fired along with Ozzie. Coop appears to be an above average pitching coach. Frank Thomas was probably clean since he was at the forefront of complaining about the issue and had none of the other tell-tale signs. Cub fans are idiots. That is all.

Because making the post season 3 of 12 years is very good "considering the resources he has"

Many teams would kill for that.

Not sure when people will understand the Sox have had a top payroll for most of KW's time here.

Who argues against that? Those numbers are easy to verify.

Chus, those look like good trades right now....jury still out

Of course, but there is very little downside to any of them. I'm gonna go ahead and call the Youk deal a win. He is only owed about $2 million from the Sox for three and a half months.

Also, they wanted Greinke and couldnt get him because they didnt have the prospects. Dont we have to count that one against Kenny?

So did several other teams. Only one could get him. I'm not about to make the claim that the Sox farm system is better than that of the Angels.

Im not talking about you but it seems Kenny gets a lot of excuses made for him

He does from some people, but overall he gets more criticism than praise in this town. He swings and misses sometimes, but when he does make contact, the results are positive.

He's in a small market (Not really, top payroll)
No players come back to haunt him (Even though some are all stars)

Gio Gonzalez would look really good towing the rubber on the south side every five days.

I actually had someone tell me Daniel Hudson being hurt right now means that wasnt a bad trade.

Horrible trade. I was against that from day one.

And that Chris Young ended up being Youkalis. (Nevermind the 5 years in between those moves. Definitely couldnt have used an athleteic All Star centerfielder)

I need more than an athlete in center field. Brian Anderson was a hell of an athlete.

I dont know man. I think Kenny is very good. But his supporters seem to insist he's the best and anyone who disagrees is a hater.

I don't hear that. He gets a lot of criticism, and much of it is deserved.

Also, they say well "Cashman and Theo had open checkbooks"

Theo did in Boston. Most teams can't give $224 million to Carl Crawford and John Lackey, and still be able to field a decent team. Denying that Boston and the Yankees have a competitive advantage isn't accurate.

Ok, so you are disqualifying anyone with a bigger payroll? Then yeah, Kenny is the best. If you take away all the GM's that are better.

I'm not disqualifying anybody from anything. My point is that the White Sox are NOT the shittiest organization in baseball, and I don't think I am making a crazy statement.

Also, lets remember that Jim Hendry went to the playoffs three times in 9 years. And contrary to popular belief his payroll was LOWER than the White Sox for both 2007 and 2008

He gave out a lot of bad paper, ($90 mil for Z, he bid against himself for Soriano). The Cubs have zero playoff wins since the start of the 2004 season, and they are still digging out of the hole where Hendry put them.

So how is it that Kenny is the best and Hendry is terrible?

Again, I'm not sure who said that.

(Again, not aimed at Chus, just ranting off of a post he made)

Yeah, but Im taking the ones that fit my argument. That's how it works here. You know that.
There are several Sox fans posters here who act like Kenny is the best. Even suggesting a lifetime contract offer.

First of all, its up for debate if you are talking all time. Cubs were pretty bad ass in the early days of baseball

Secondly, many Sox fans have called the Sox a good organization. They are not. I dont know why its so difficult for Sox fans to comprehend. 103 years without a title is bad. 86 years is pretty terrible too.

Let me get this straight. You are getting on Sox fans for thinking that the Sox are a good organization? Just read that over again. You are calling White Sox fans big homers because they think the organization is good?

The Sox organization has been good for the past 20 years.

Answered in an ensuing post but a couple Score guys

Because making the post season 3 of 12 years is very good "considering the resources he has"

Eh...not sure about that. Yeah, shitty teams would like it, but no GM would state that as a goal.

Not sure when people will understand the Sox have had a top payroll for most of KW's time here.

Who argues against that? Those numbers are easy to verify.
Well, they say Kenny has "limited resources"

Chus, those look like good trades right now....jury still out

Of course, but there is very little downside to any of them. I'm gonna go ahead and call the Youk deal a win. He is only owed about $2 million from the Sox for three and a half months.

Right, I just think you cant ignore that. That has to go against Kenny.

Where does it end? The Phillies payroll has been higher than the Red Sox for a while. Im not saying that doesnt help. But if you're ranking GM's you cant just throw those guys to the side.

Ok, so you are disqualifying anyone with a bigger payroll? Then yeah, Kenny is the best. If you take away all the GM's that are better.

I think a GM's job is to get a team to the playoffs and its mostly happenstance after that. He put together 4 real good teams.

So how is it that Kenny is the best and Hendry is terrible?

Again, I'm not sure who said that.
Almost everyone on this site seems to think Kenny is awesome and Hendry sucked.
