Just come back tomorrow and win it for Fransisco.

Is Quintana experiencing a case of the dead arm too? Hopefully Liriano can serve up some payback to his former team.

I know you didn't expect him to have a 1.98 ERA for his career, did you? He came out shaky and pitched his balls off, gave his team seven innings and a chance to win. That's baseball, man.

He locates and doesn't walk anyone. But that's a skinny margin for error. You see when he's off just a tiny bit, you get an inning like the first last night. It's like those games that Buehrle pitches every now and then where it looks like BP. They're similar pitchers. Maybe this guy can do it as long as Buehrle has. I wouldn't bet on that though.

More likely a case of being recently seen by the team he pitched against. The league might be starting to figure him out a bit (do not forget, opponents will share information with each other)... next few starts should be interesting.

I don't think so, not at least last night. He was 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 almost every at bat in the first inning. Big league hitters are just gonna sit on your fastball if that happens.

If the lineup looks familiar, that's because it is. Here's the lineup Minnesota's Nick Blackburn will deal with:

30 Alejandro De Aza CF (L)
20 Kevin Youkilis 3B (R)
32 Adam Dunn DH (L)
14 Paul Konerko 1B (R)
51 Alex Rios RF (R)
12 A.J. Pierzynski C (L)
24 Dayan Viciedo LF (R)
10 Alexei Ramirez SS (R)
15 Gordon Beckham 2B (R)

The White Sox start lefty Francisco Liriano, now sporting #58, this eve.

One notable change in Minnesota's lineup tonight vs. Liriano. That's in BOLD, while 3 other Twins are at different positions in this game. Here's their lineup:

2 Denard Span CF (L)
19 Darin Mastroianni RF (R)
7 Joe Mauer DH (L)
16 Josh Willingham LF (R)
33 Justin Morneau 1B (L)
18 Ryan Doumit C (S)
22 Dan Valencia 3B (R)
20 Brian Dozier SS (R)
8 Jamey Carroll 2B (R)

Nick Blackburn does the chucking for Minnesota as the White Sox try to snap a 2-game losing streak.

Liriano is looking real good early. He's really popping it. Now they have to hang a 5 spot on this shit bucket Blackburn to make things easier on him.

After AJ scored the White Sox 2nd run, he can be heard saying, "Let's go! Get this piece of shit!" on his way to the dugout. It was in reference to Nick Blackburn hitting him with a pitch.

I'm not even a Sox fan, but I love AJ.

Meatpants was crying about it on Twitter. Something about how AJ should remember that next year when he gets snubbed for the all-star game.

Fuck Spiegel. He should stick to tweeting about what a great trade the Cubs made in getting Tommy Juan for Johnson and Maholm.

It's not like Gardenhire will be managing the AL squad next summer.

#12 A.J. Pierzynski, Bridgehampton, NY.

He may be a lot of things to a lot of people, but guess what? A.J. gets it done.

AJ didn't say it to Blackburn he said it to his teammates. Does Spiegs really think this is the first time a hitter has ever said someting not so nice about the opposing pitcher??

Not only that, AJ was the 4th or 5th guy to have been HBP in this series. Its understandable and warranted to be frustrated and have a reaction like that.

On the CSNC broadcast last night, Steve Stone said that 4 White Sox hitters were plunked in that Monday night game they gave away to the Twins in the bottom 9th.

Players vote for the All Star game. I thought it was very out of character for AJ to be pissed about being snubbed.
