I'm kind of with Hank on this one. It's about the name on the front of the jersey not the name on the back that I root for.

I read something similar that was like Bulls fans are ecstatic to have Kirk Hinrich back.....like wait what? I mean I don't hate Hinrich or anything but there wasn't exactly a parade to bring him back into town. Any media story about what "fans" think is usually really dumb.

Great point. Thought the same damn thing about that too.

The talking heads on local TV are great and pandering to the masses. It ain't true and they don't know it or are scared to say it. Just wait until Leery gets his shot. People will know what is really going on in the wide world of sports.

Exactly...I feel like I am in the majority when I say Dempster is a turd and Hinrich is not really welcomed back here...I keep hearing people on the radio say Dempster is a fan favorite..He isn't and never has been.

I know that people will shoot back with "You cant compare your job to theirs, it is totally different" but that reasoning is why it is like this. If any people here were told that they have to go move to Atlanta for 3 months after making 52 million here the last 5+ years we would probably chalk it up to the price of doing business and being lucky enough to make that kind of money. Not to mention that his job involves so much travel that he isnt home all the time anyway. It isnt even 3 months of being away from your family, it is probably half that if you factor in the time he would be on the road with the Cubs. And if you miss them that much use your millions to fly them to ATL for the next homestand.

I want to go to a game just to heckle him now. Anybody have good enough seats?

My level of irrational anger towards Dempster is so high right now that I would go to a game with Harry.

What really pisses me off is the cubs gave the average-to-below-average closer a chance to become a starter again. Not many teams would have done that.

Without that opportunity, which most teams can't afford to try, he probably wouldn't be in the league right now.

Tempted to give him a little bit of a break because he's going thru a divorce with kids involved.

Gotta factor in the CRAZY soon to be EX wife threats

Maybe she would have used him going to Atlanta in the middle of the divorce against him in court?

Anyway, he's still a DB for other reasons

I thought Dempster's warm and fuzzy Cubs story was that he was a great family man.
