So Obama thinks the penalties are enough, will Dan now accuse him of being for child rape?

How bout I continue to not talk about hockey, and you steer clear of discussing addiction. Yeah it can be "tricky".

In honor of Unemployed Lawyer's dad, Harry.

OKC, you might have to archive Harry (by cracky), too.

I think the Bulls have actually maintained a solid bench for next season despite making their moves in avoidance of the tax. Without Rose, though, the starting lineup is going to have to execute flawlessly and hit open jump shots if they expect to score 90+ on a regular basis.

Me too. I just couldn't help noticing he sounded like Mort. That caller was an idiot.

Have B and B touched on the case at Montana involving the Football coach and AD trying to cover up the gang rape of a student by players?

Call me when the NCAA hands out punishment for it.

Question: Is it not possible (in Dan Bernstein's viewpoint) to feel outraged over the actions of Jerry Sandusky and the cover-up by Joe Paterno and school officials AND still root for the football team to do well? Why can't both be possible - a small number of people in the school administration knew what was going on, covered it up, and protected a child rapist while 99.99% of fans, students, etc. were fans of the school's football team, tradition, etc. In Bernstein's role as irrational radio host, he seems to be arguing that you are a fan of child rape if you support the football team. I don't think that's logical, much less right.

Most of those fans continue to excuse, if not outright deny, the coverup.

This

There is also a blind refusal to believe what Paterno did was wrong.

"Most" seems way too strong, in my opinion. I do think it's easy to point at some of the loud voices, and infer that to mean that all people feel the same way.

We keep saying that while more and more people keep opening mouth and showing ass.

Girl I went to high school with who went to law school at Penn State suspiciously deactivated her facebook when this stuff was really ramping up a few weeks ago. Bright person, but she picked the wrong side of the Paterno thing.

No, it doesn't.

Read the forums, read the local papers, beyond which we have students all the way through trustees decrying the resultant (and way, way, way too god damned lenient) penalties, never mind alumni - especially the football idiots - who won't acknowledge reality even if their noses are shoved into the report and made to read it aloud to each other for a year.

'Most' is completely appropriate .... the behavior of said 'most' is not.

edit: inexplicably made a they're/their typo .... I couldn't be more pissed about that.

That's why the NCAA should have hit PSU with the hammer of the gods. These fucking troglodytes need a few years away from college football to step back and re-evaluate their priorities in life.

I still hope that this is a very vocal minority that is doing this but it gets harder and harder to give the Penn State fans the benefit of the doubt on this.

That was a great impersonation of that guy bernstein had going on, but really, the guy wasn't retarded, he hung up on them, and then he was followed by the obligatory ass-licking call agreeing with danny and telling Terry what a great Juco pitcher his kid was.

That guy owned them.

He Bernstein'd Bernstein, he answered Terry's question with a job that makes more than both of them make and took no shit and didnt buy into any of the traps set by B and B

Thats why Bernstein went to the impression, there was nothing to make fun of about the guy
