Joe Mather? Sveum must have bumped into him in the hotel lobby and realized he was still on the team.

He has become Quade. Mather is one of his "guys". Why is he jerking around Jackson's spot in the lineup. San Diego also has a huge outfield so obviously its best to have soriano and Mather in the corners. Good god man.

Better than seeing Coleman's tired ass act again.

Jackson should not be hitting 1 or 2 this early in his career...slot him 6th or 7th...give him a chance to acclimate.

Mike Trout leads off.

And he's half the player Brett Jackson is.

So some fucking guy named Stultz is shoving it up their ass. Did they go and tear up the gaslamp last night or what?

Dale Quade's great idea of leading off Jackson has really worked well. He has battled in his ab's but has earned the golden shower sombrero already.

Sveum will hopefully figure this out quickly. I want Jackson and Vitters out there everyday...but down put the pressure on them immediately. Stick with DeJesus, Castro, Rizzo, Soriano and go from there.

I'd be totally fine with:

DeJesus
Castro
Rizzo
Soriano
Castillo
Jackson
Vitters
Barney
P

I agree. I don't understand what the hell he is doing with this lineup. Instead of integrating them he has created a lineup state of chaos and put a ton of pressure on Jackson at the top. They wouldn't even let him lead off in Iowa the last few months.

Probably. I don't think Trout has 4 strikeouts this season yet, let alone 4 in one game!

Adam Dunn currently has 396 HRs and 996 RBI in his career.

I don't think its crazy to suggest that Brett Jackson falls short of even 2/3 of those numbers for his career......Which would be 261 HRs and 657 RBI.

Brett Jackson struck out nearly 40% of the time at Iowa this season. This is what he does. It's not going to significantly matter where Sveum puts him in the order.

So the Cubs called up Vitters to have him sit on the bench. I guess Dale can't turn his back on Valbuena.

Jackson is striking out, valbuena is 2-2, Raley is giving up lots of runs, Castro is on a quest to never get a hit again. Good god are things bad. At least the Royals won.

I wonder when the last time was that the Cubs had 7 lefties in their starting lineup.

I'm not discussing this for Brett Jackson's development or statistics more than I am bringing it up as the exact opposite of what works for a successful MLB lineup.

This is the same reason you don't lead off Soriano.

Let the all or nothing hitters be at the end of your "RBI guys."

They either finish the inning off one way or another.

Makes sense. I misunderstood. I think Theo's just wants to see if there's any chance Jackson can hack it(no pun intended) at the top of the order. Better to do it now when wins and losses don't matter.

I won't be surprised to see Vitters hitting fourth or fifth at some point either. Not saying he should hit four or five. But they will experiment.

As is, I see Brett Jackson as being very similar to Corey Hart, except much faster.

Corey Hart was the fastest of all of the Brewers coming up, but his body changed.
