Most people have Bird in the top 5 which would make your post popular opinion.

I don't even think Kid says Scottie.

Bird is the consensus best SF ever. As of right now there's not really a close 2nd.

Interesting list of top 10 small forwards:

http://www.hoopsmanifesto.com/articles/basketball/top-10-nba-small-forwards-of-all-time.html

A bit surprised the have TheBron as 8 and Worthy as 9.

If I'm a GM creating an all time team, Pippen is my starting SF.

Bird can back him up off the bench.

And Farvio, I disagree that there is no close second to Bird as a small forward. In fact, I'd argue that Bird is a close second to Pippen.

Bird was a great shooter and passer...whoopee! Those are the only two things he did. He ran the break well and he could hit shots from anywhere. But when you compare him to the greatest all-around player of all time, who did EVERYTHING well? Sorry, but Bird ain't touching Pip.

He also averaged 10 rebounds a game, won 3 MVPs, led his team to 3 titles. And saying he was a great shooter and passer is understating it. He was easily one of the best shooting and passing forwards ever, and was one of the most clutch players ever. Scottie was better defensively obviously but Bird was better at everything else.

I dont think that Scottie would even think he should start over Bird.

The Detroit Tigers will not win the 2012 AL Central.

That doesn't mean it will for sure be the Sox, but it will not be the Tigers.

My contrarian thought is that it doesn't bother me that there aren't as many brothers in the MLB as it was before.

There's just enough in the league that they are noticed, including the fact that the best player in the MLB currently (outside of Pujols) is Matt Kemp.

I wish there were more brothers playing. But they really seem to have a hold on the outfield position; Kemp, McCuthen, Byrd, Dexter Fowler, Jason Hayward, Camern Maybin, the Uptons, the Youngs...

Marlon Byrd had a comment on this topic:

"If you want to take polls, then take polls asking how many black lawyers do we have now, or how many black judges or black doctors there are now," Byrd said. "Just because we're black doesn't mean we have to play sports. You can go through other avenues. If the decrease (in baseball) is because they're going into academic fields, so be it. More power to them."

It's not a bad thing for secret service members to party when the president isn't around.

Blacks make up ~13% of the total US population, so if they make up over 13% of anything, then it's a win for you guys.

I think it's actually something like 34%, but 65% just sounds better!!!

Still well above the 13% mark anyway.

I'd love to see the US basketball team lose. I'm rooting for every other American team except for these guys.

I'm curious as well.

If you're gonna go the cheap shot routine, I'd like to know which "cleaner" team you are rooting for?

Here are six:

1. I hate LeBron
2. I'm pissed D Rose can't play
3. I don't like Carmelo
4. I grew up in Argentina and would love to see them win
5. Andres Nocioni has been very nice to me due to our Argentine backgrounds
6. I hate Mike Krzyzewski

After his performance in the playoffs and Finals, why do you still hate Lebron?

That's a strange question. Should we start liking a player just because they win a title?
