Not in full garb, but facially he looks like a dead ringer.

Daniel Day Lewis has been in only 10 movies since 1989 and has had four Oscar nominations

That's almost as good as Tebow's TD to completion ratio!

Strange, he doesn't look like the type of guy JORR would run into at a Lake Forest car wash.

Wonder how he plays this one. He can be a very good subtle actor (In the Name of the Father, The Ballad of Jack and Rose, My Left Foot) but he can also draw too much attention to himself (Gangs of New York and There Will Be Blood) and cause the entire film to suffer.

Gangs of New York was the story of Bill the Butcher and it was awesome.

How does twbb suffer as a film if lewis won an academy award for it? That doesn't make sense...

He's def in the convo... I once read an interview where he said he takes @ least two years to prep/get into character for his next film... Kinda sounds high maintenance, but his work is all time great...

i think he should send a basket of wine and treats to every castmate. he stays in character throughout the whole shoot. that's got to get insufferable into the home stretch, i don't care how good you are. dustin hoffman pulled that shit too. no doubt i give them high marks; but i feel for the co-stars, too.

During filming of My Left Foot he made the crew carry him in the wheelchair across things that weren't wheelchair accessible to feel the shame of the character

He broke a couple ribs because he stayed in the chair so much

I've always wondered what these method actors do when they get a role as a murderer?

Wasn't there stories of De Niro beating his wife during Raging Bull?

To say nothing of the little known sequel, There Will Be Pond Hockey: The Coach Q Story

Yeah ... if he's not Bill, as he played him, that movie is a steaming pile of shit.

He had me at "I'll festoon my bedchambers with your guts".
