Dillon Maples made his first appearance yesterday tossing one inning and giving up one run.

Welcome to the Cubs Villanueva!! Debuting for Daytona tonight...so far 2-2 with 2 bombs!!!!!

Saunders has been starting consistently at short in Daytona and after a slow start he is now batting .325. Pretty damn impressive for a DIII guy who was drafted this year. .310 after the game but still a very nice start with the big jump from the AZL to the FSL.

Torreyes has his average back up to .274 as well. Been on a pretty good clip the last month.

How did I miss this update. Now where is Saunders going to play? He better at least be starting at Peoria.

Jackson and Vitters have been called up. I'd limit expectations for both, but it will be fun to watch.

Awesome. I guess seeing an outfield of Sori, Mather and Baker forced their hand.

Hopefully Baker was traded and Mather DFA'd

I hope Jackson looks like 75% of Mike Trout and I owe you a couple beers for crapping on him since he was drafted.

Good to see these promotions. Makes sense and they actually do it.

Jackson certainly has the "look" of a pro player. Hopefully he can perform well.

Looks like he doesn't mind taking a pitch. Certainly gets the most out of his swings. Looks like he needs to work on shortening his swing up after two strikes to make contact.

I really wish Castro would rally around these young guys. He has looked like shit ever since Rizzo came up and took away alot of the attention. He needs to be with these guys and not with the old vets like Soriano. He needs to be part of the youth movement and not part of the veteran movement that is rapidly dying.

My money is on Castro getting traded at some point. If Baez continues to develop as quickly as he has, Castro may find himself being trade bait.

Soler and Almora haven't been too impressive with the bat in the AZL. Got to admit that I expected a bit more out of both in that area. Enough to get promoted to low A by now -- or warrant promotion at least.

You're probably wrong in expecting everyone to develop fast and the organization turn-around to be done in the blink of an eye.

In almora's case it's going to take time. Soler should be dominating the azl though. I haven't kept up with the azl in a week so idk if he is even doing all that bad.

I expect top 5 picks and guys signed for $30M to be able to hit good high school pitching. No matter what there age. I'm not saying they should be moving through the system quickly, I'm just saying I expect more than a .240 batting average and I also expected them, Soler at least, to be out of AZL by now.

Well, how do you like that? Hopefully things pick up with his bat there.
