At least drinky can say he gets his own shows, update shifts, plus is married to a teacher aspiring to be a principal who will support him and their kids while he pursues his radio dreams.

I think we had the debate about posting the pics of family members in a criticism of Bernsie with that photo of his family at the game. I got that same icky feeling with that pic. While I generally think W&P is a trouble maker, I tend to agree with the last sentence of his post:

I don't know why Herb replaced Matt Abbatacola as pitchman for Illinois Center for Broadcasting. Ernie Scanton, the whispery-sounding backup to SCORE Production Director Russ Mitera, has also done similar spots for ICB when he did similar work up the dial at ESPN Radio 1000.

Herb has been at the station for a long time but has never gotten any regular or even fill-in airtime, right? So why would he be a good person for these ads?

Tad, he's NEVER been a host, but I hear Herb on The SCORE all the time, regardless if it's filling in with "Boers & Bernstein", Laurence Holmes, Ben Finfer or any of the other producer/fill-in hosts on the radio station...

Do you mean that he's filled in as a producer on the Boers and Bernstein show or he's filled in as a host? I've heard him chime in and contribute on Laurence's show while producing (and he was awful, so awful that he made Laurence sound good), but I've never heard him in the role of a host.

Herb has always been a producer. NEVER once has he hosted a show.

An ICB diploma is printed on the back of ad for the "college in your pajamas" school which comes in an envelope from a company that will tell you if your invention is a good idea.

I'm tempted to drive to the shuttered Arbys where these classes take place just to see if someone would actually buy magic beans.

Anyone that tries to convince someone to go to this school for a career is a scum bag.
If you want to sell it as a fantasy radio camp for Maddux Boy and Quad City Pat then I have no issues.

Wow some of you guys are just awful people. I don't mind you spewing venom about me and how I got the ICB spot or how bad Im at my job but to post a persons wife and talk about her is very low. She has nothing to do with this message board and the admin should take the picture down immediately.

Now back to my lisp and other such things. The spot is supposed to project to the audience that if a stuttering, mumbling fool like myself can get on air so can you. Hey I love the hate on this board because it tells me that Im doing something right. Please keep it up
