Well, then I'm glad for you that Purdue football is starting soon.
Purdue fans don't get excited by national championships. We get excited when we win yet another Motor City Bowl.

  I love how Sox fans still worry about Cubs fans.

Aren't you guys in a pennant race or something?

Not every team is lucky enough to have their super bowl in the middle of the season.

Right, sometimes it ends in the divisional round

Personally, I favor Darwin Barney. He's not going to go on base nearly as much as Theriot. But he's better defensively and is a better baserunner.

Barney and it's not close. Theriot was a bad SS and is a serviceable 2B. Barney is a very good 2B and could be a better SS.

Barney would be the scorn of the B and B show if he were white. He is KW's kind of grindy guy

Last year he was the scorn of B & B and they started the season giving him the business too. I am surprised they haven't driven the stake into LaHair yet. The All Star is having a second half swoon of epic proportions.

Best Japanese second baseman since Tadahito Iguchi.

Hard to do that when they talked about how great he was earlier in the year. That was back when danny thought De Aza was "bad at baseball".

Some baseball fans, like me and spmack, can put the rivalry aside to be unbiased.

Maybe he cares more about seeing it objectively than to take the default Cub response in every situation.

Ok, lets not kid ourselves.

He cares about spurring arguments

I am as unbiased as it comes here. Despite not going to the church of Kenny Williams with Rick, I give him and the organization a lot of credit.

Cant say the same for most of my Sox friends here.

I think you're a pretty bright guy, but you're kidding yourself if you think you're unbiased.

Most of your Sox friends here do give Kenny and the organization a lot of credit. They are a good organization.

What makes me biased? Kenny has done an amazing job, every other year, and a bad to adequate job in the other years.

If they were bad this year, I wanted him fired. They aren't though.

No, I am unbiased.

You are 100% Sox up, Cubs down no matter what the circumstance or discussion is. I am not. You will find me ripping the Cubs and praising the Sox all over this site.

Those are facts.

And you misunderstood my post apparently. I was speaking of giving "the other team" credit when its due.

I do that.

Its funny how everyone's opinion of Theo dropped suddenly when he was hired by the Cubs, though.

If Kenny is amazing, then Theo must be legendary

You are not unbiased in Cubs vs Sox arguments. That's a laughable notion.

I admit I'm a little biased, but your description of me is very inaccurate. I rooted for the Cubs when I went to Wrigley with Darko in 2008 and I said as much here. I've said a couple times I like Wrigley. But generally I don't say much about the Cubs. Sometimes ill add in the trolling discussions that you, Rick, gd, bigfan, and others perpetuate, but thats clearly just trolling fun. At least gd admits it. If I don't have a lot positive to say about the Cubs team, it's probably because there's not a lot positive to say about them. That's just a fact. Maybe Rizzo and Starlin are the beginning or changing all that.

I'm also not 100% Sox are awesome. I thought they would be terrible this year. I'm happy they look like at the very least a pseudo-contender. I've already admitted I'm one of the stereotypical Sox fans that gets invested when they are good and sorta forget about baseball for the summer when they are terrible. JORR would hate me. I just don't find baseball interesting enough to follow a bad team.

Its a laughable notion for you because you are so far in the Sox forest you think anything other than Rongey/Hawk-isms seems biased to you.

Its laughable that you think Im biased. When we discuss baseball here, I dont ever favor the cubs. Ever. I might argue against Sox fan trolling but that doesnt make me biased.

Feel free to cite any examples of this bias

You cant discuss the Sox without going into the very lame "Sox fans all think, do, or say....". That's a pretty obvious sign of bias. I know this because you usually are a pretty assertive advocate against group labeling in every other arena of life.

I don't understand what you are saying in the first part of your post. Like many Sox fans I know, I admit Hawk is as biased an announcer as there have ever been, and I like him alot. Those guys don't need to be unbiased IMO. Rongey is a douche and I've said as much.

It means you are so pro Sox, my very unbiased criticisms of them seem biased to you.

I dont do the "Sox fans all...." In fact I normally go to the lengths of describing who Im talking about (the ones I grew up with, the ones on this board etc.)

Rare exceptiion for joking with Rick about 100% of fans but when the serious discussions take place, I dont do that

The fact that you seem to be in denial about the well known fact that hating the Cubs is a part of Sox fandom for a majority of Sox fans, might be what's making you think im biased.

Im sorry, but anyone who lives in this city anywhere can tell there is more hate on one side.

Let's take a look at my Sox bias...

Kenny Williams is a good GM. Top 8 probably.

Sox fan response: That's insulting. He's been amazing! He's one of the best!

86 years is a long time to go without a title

Sox fan response: No it's not. The Yankees were too good! We shoulda won in 59!!

Not sure about this Ventura hire

Sox fan response: Great hire, you're a hater

But Im accused of bias

good dolphin and I pretty much agree on most baseball stuff outside of Don Cooper.

You did it again, only a slight variation. Instead of saying Sox fans, you said Sox fan and let him speak for the fanbase.

I agree that Kenny is a good, not great(top 5) GM. I agree 86 years is a long ass time to go without a title and is really bad regardless of excuses. I agree that the Ventura hire was questionable but i didn't like Ozzie and generally subscribe to JORR's philosophy on baseball managers.

Yay! Now I get to be called unbiased too, right?

I didnt do anything. I gave examples of several different responses Ive gotten from different posters on this board to things Ive said about the Sox

You accused me of bias, I assume were talking about this board.

I have no bias. You will not find a negative Sox thought from me just for the sake of being negative. Not my thing.
