Hitting in front of Rizzo is easier than hitting in front of a pitcher.

They’re trying to give him the best chance to succeed and you do that by hitting him in front of the best hitter on the team. He should see more fastballs hitting 2nd. Hitting in front of the pitcher is more difficult because he has to figure out when they’re pitching around him and when they’re going after him. He already swings at WAY too many pitchers pitches so you're not doing him any favors by hitting him 8th. Developing a young hitter is more important than the 48th win of the season.

Vitters should start every game for the rest of the season. He needs every AB he can get. A few hits or gloved balls from Valbuena don't mean shit as he won't be around after this season anyways.

...and swaimer....tell Castillo to fucking run hard already. He damn near cost them a run today when his dead ass was jogging home on the Sac fly while Barney and Jackson were taking bases as well. If Barney would have been out at 2nd before his dead ass crossed the plate thus negating the run.

Nice debut for Rusin. 5 innings of 1 hit ball and only 1 run allowed due to some walks and hbp. He also got 1 of the 2 Cubs hits so far. Swaimer pulled him after 76 pitches and Corpas gave it up the next inning.
