So, it looks like once again one of the most illogical places in the country to have a major city is going to get hit. I feel sorry for everyone who lives there but it may be time to seriously consider a permanent takeover of the parts of the city at or below sea level.

New Orleans is one of the armpits of America...a dirty filthy place. I feel bad for the people here who may be facing another disaster.

The city is a real shit hole, no doubt.

It is also a shit load of fun....at least for a few day jaunt. I couldn't imagine living there.

Because they are going to be hit by a hurricane and may lose everything they own or at the very least see significant damage across the whole region they live in.

Guy in my office is from New Orleans. He's not worried. Says this wont be near Katrina.

He shouldn't be. Bush isn't around to blow up the levees this time.

Yep. If you look hard enough there is footage that shows Bush43 fast roping onto the levee's from a Blackhawk helicopter with a satchel full of TNT. He even winks at the camera before lighting the explosives.

I understand why it's a bad place to have a city, but you sort of have to have a major port town at the mouth of the Mississippi, don't you? Lot of essential shipping operations down around New Orleans.
