First I'm the biggest Cubs fan there is.

Do I think Jackson is going to be better than Trout? NO.

Do I think Jackson has a chance to be a good player? Yes.

Do I think the jury is out on both of them for at least 2 seasons in the majors? Yes.

Jackson can have a better 4, 5, or 10 game stretch than Trout, and Trout is still the better option 100% of the time.

I think (hope) a decent part of this thread is tongue firmly planted in cheek, but like RPB alludes too, some really good signs that Jackson might have a ceiling higher than I thought. Possible he could be the starting CF on a good team.

Age relative to league is one of the biggest factors in evaluating a player (remember that). You are trying to compare a 24 year old to a 19 year old. You should stop doing that because it makes you look really dumb. REALLY dumb.

He's trying to compare Trout's first time in the majors to Jackson's first time in the majors. Trout was 19 when he first made it to the majors. When Jackson was 19 he was a sophomore at Cal.

Different context. He said Sale had a makeup and skill set similar to Randy Johnson. He never said Sale's ceiling was at a Randy Johnson level. He also said that in retort to IMU comparing Chris Sale to Erik Bedard.

The White Sox system has churned out major leaguer after major leaguer. Productive and sometimes All Star players at that. Just because not all of them play for the Sox, doesn't mean that their system has not been fruitful. They have had their own guys become impact players for them, and they have also picked up guys passed on by other teams;
