I'm pretty sure that Charlie Brown was sort of a dick. I mean, he acted like a nice guy but he was a dick at heart. I'm glad Lucy never let him kick the football.

Brett Jackson also has phenomenal rookie beard.

First I'm the biggest Cubs fan there is.

Do I think Jackson is going to be better than Trout? NO.

Do I think Jackson has a chance to be a good player? Yes.

Do I think the jury is out on both of them for at least 2 seasons in the majors? Yes.

14. Mike Trout sees 65.9 percent fastballs, the fourth most in baseball.
Why? Scouts have talked about Trout's preternatural ability to hit off-speed stuff, and the pitch-type numbers back it up. He's got the second most runs off sliders and changes and sixth most off cutters.

15. Trout also is an incredible bad-ball hitter.

Mike Trout (Getty Images)
How do you spend the first month of the season in Triple-A and end the year as perhaps the best player on the planet? Hitting off-speed pitches is a good start, and hitting bad ones is even better. On pitches classified as low and away, Trout is hitting a baseball-best .379 this season. Next on the list? Alex Gordon at .315. The major league average on such pitches is .211.

16. Trout is one of a dozen hitters with no weaknesses.
And, by no weaknesses, we mean neutral or positive pitch-type values. Joining him are some of the expected (Josh Hamilton, Miguel Cabrera, Carlos Gonzalez), plenty more from the next tier of hitter (Josh Willingham, Adrian Beltre, Paul Goldschmidt, Ben Zobrist), a few surprises (Dexter Fowler, Alex Rios, David DeJesus) and one web scion (Melky Cabrera).
Among pitchers, Justin Verlander, Felix Hernandez, Stephen Strasburg, Chris Sale, R.A. Dickey and Gio Gonzalez make sense. And then there are three rookies: Wade Miley, Jarrod Parker and Matt Moore.

I hope Jackson exceeds my super sub 4th outfielder projection. Looks like he might.

He will never come close to what Trout has already done though

Jackson is also playing on a team that is one of the worst in MLB. No pressure. Meanwhile Trout has better numbers, is younger, and is playing day in and day out in a playoff race.

So, I hope this is an act IMU. I'd like to believe you are smarter than this...

  Jackson can have a better 4, 5, or 10 game stretch than Trout, and Trout is still the better option 100% of the time.

I guess you are not all that bright. I get all kinds of shit on here for being one of the biggest Sox homers on the board, but you apparently have lapped me 5 or 6 times with regard to how big of a Cubs homer you are.

Enjoy Theo, and Brett Jackson putting up some decent numbers for a 100 loss team in late August. I've got a pennant race to follow 8)

I think (hope) a decent part of this thread is tongue firmly planted in cheek, but like RPB alludes too, some really good signs that Jackson might have a ceiling higher than I thought. Possible he could be the starting CF on a good team.

You are being realistic, IMU clearly is not.

Age relative to league is one of the biggest factors in evaluating a player (remember that). You are trying to compare a 24 year old to a 19 year old. You should stop doing that because it makes you look really dumb. REALLY dumb.

In fairness, Trout is 20.

He's trying to compare Trout's first time in the majors to Jackson's first time in the majors. Trout was 19 when he first made it to the majors. When Jackson was 19 he was a sophomore at Cal.

Almost as dumb as comparing Sale to Randy Johnson

The HGH has given the 19 year old the body of a 24 year old so the comparison stands.

Never said it wasn't valid, I actually agree with him here. Just always want to remind him when he brings up dumb statements that he made a pretty dumb one himself this year.

Different context. He said Sale had a makeup and skill set similar to Randy Johnson. He never said Sale's ceiling was at a Randy Johnson level. He also said that in retort to IMU comparing Chris Sale to Erik Bedard.

Details dont matter here, Frank

If a cub fan had mentioned RJ in the same post as a Cub pitcher you would have posted about it 20 times by now.

Mike Trout is 21. Brett Jackson is 24. Their birthdays are the same week in August.

I know this is trolling but three years is a big difference.

Its kinda like Kirk Hinrich and LeBron being rookies at the same time.

IMU,
Answer this question with a Yes or a No.

Do you think that Jackson will be as good as Mike Trout?

:lol: :lol: The White Sox system has churned out major leaguer after major leaguer. Productive and sometimes All Star players at that. Just because not all of them play for the Sox, doesn't mean that their system has not been fruitful. They have had their own guys become impact players for them, and they have also picked up guys passed on by other teams;

Chris Sale
Gordon Beckham
Addison Reed
Gio Gonzalez
Nate Jones
Jose Quintana
John Danks
Jordan Danks
Clayton Richard
Tyler Flowers
Brent Lillibridge
Chris Getz
Alexei Ramirez
Nick Masset
Boone Logan
Joe Crede
Lucas Harrell
Daniel Hudson
Sergio Santos
Brent Morel

Its one of the biggest misconceptions out there, that the White Sox system is so bad. Yet ALL of the players above have been viable Major League players at some point since 2008. All were in the Sox system. Keep swinging and missing, IMU. At least you are consistently looking foolish in this thread!
