I had a feeling that would happen. I think we all know that football has a lot of bad actors, but that's probably an opinion you should keep to yourself if you work around the team.

It was a dumb thing to say....especially for a school that pretends it has a certain image.

Can't say I'm surprised that IMG/Notre Dame Radio Network has reportedly fired Allen Pinkett. I heard the interview in real time on The SCORE's Mac & Spiegs midday show and I still couldn't believe what I heard.

Isn't a coach that murders student assistants good enough to bump up ND's "street cred"?

IMG Sports, which is the syndicator of the Notre Dame Radio Network, has officially confirmed that Allen Pinkett will NOT be part of the Notre Dame/Navy broadcast Saturday morning, according to a Tweet from the Trib's Brian Hamilton.

Spiegs has submitted the following column regarding Allen Pinkett and the hole that appeared to cost him his job as Notre Dame analyst. You can find out more here:

Allen Pinkett has no one to blame but himself. Spiegs went Ted Koppel, circa 1987 in that interview on ABC News' "Nightline" in that interview with ex-Dodgers' executive Al Campanis, in asking Pinkett to clarify his stance and didn't do it. Like Campanis, Pinkett appears to have lost his job.

The remarks also made the big time this morning on "The Dan Patrick Show".

It would have been glorious to read that Meat is gone.

I heard Spiegs say it right after the interview.

But the guy who was responsible for the death of a student manager is celebrated.

In my opinion, Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick & HC Brian Kelly should've been fired for the death of that videographer. It happened on both of their watches and somehow kept their jobs when it could've been prevented.

My buddy met him on the Green Monster in Boston.

Weird to run into him at that height right?

They did determine later that he was high before he died.

High enough to die.

Maybe Pinkett said he wanted criminals on his team because his coach and AD are criminals?

He should be fired if only for his facial hair.

He wasn't fired. He was suspended for the first game. They haven't yet announced anything beyond that.

That is why I posted that in a thread entitled "Allen Pinket HAS been fired!"

I talked with Mac about the interview today and how widespread the coverage on the interview has become. The interview Theisman did and how He and Meat tried to give Pinkett a chance to couch the initial comments he made about needing a few criminals....but he didn't want to. He just confimed his position. Not surprised it got him fired. Dumb comments. Good interview though.
