My cousin is playing at Soldier Field tomorrow in the St. Rita-Marist game. I've been hit with a barrage of phone calls from family members asking me to go. It's turned in to some seminal family event. But I know he's a junior and I think he's on second string so who knows if he will even play much, if at all. From what I've been told both teams are good so the odds of a blowout and the scrubs playing are unlikely.

Batavia upset Glenbard North in Carol Stream, 42-41. Bulldogs have a chance to have back to back undefeated seasons. High School Football baby!!!

Wow...I would rather have the shit kicked out of me and have a running clock in the 2nd half by Oswego then to lose to a public league team. Wow...just wow.

Kaneland pulled it out in the end. Still  it was even that close. Kaneland is supposed to be a 5a title favorite.

Yep...1 pt Victory. WTF happened? I am pretty sure they only had 3 or 4 starters graduate from last year.

Loyola is currently leading Dallas Jesuit 17-14 near the end of the first half in a game being played in Ireland. I would love to see an Illinois team that graduated most of its players, defeat a team from Texas with four D1 prospects.

Since when to High School teams travel overseas to play a game?

So Wheaton Warrenville South & Geneva are both 0-2. I wonder when that happened last?
Batavia rolled again.
What did Kaneland do this week?

Marian got hit in the mouth by McHenry, but still won 38-28. 80 penalty yards against the Canes in the 2nd Qtr. alone.

Kaneland went up to 7A Huntley and had a nice 35-7 lead going into the half which then became 35-28 until they finished them off 52-35. Nice win against a school almost twice their size but they seem to have some issues stopping the run.

Batavia rolled Geneva tonight 35-21. This is the worst Geneva team that I have ever seen. Batavia has a good chance to have back to back undefeated seasons.

Geneva actually put up a fight but it appears their qb broke his collarbone and is done for the year.

Kaneland finally put it all together and blanked what I thought was a solid sterling team 42-0.

I was at the Batavia/Glenbard North game week 1 and Batavia impressed me. GBN took a chance at the end to go for 2 for the win and didn't make it. Batavia certainly played well in the 42-41 win.

Marian and Montini tonight....
You can stream it at McHenrycountysports.com and the game starts at 7:00.

Montini is #1 in 5A and Marian is #3 in 5A.
Marian is 6-0 and Montini is 5-1 (loss to Lincoln Way East in week 1).

Go Canes!

5A looks like a beast this year. I have no problem with Kaneland being bumped up to 6A for the time being where they are ranked 2nd.

Marian was down 14-0
Then they were down 17-0
Then they were down 24-14
Then they were down 24-21
It's now 49-24...Marian

Canes knocked the Montini QB out...he might be done for the season.

I don't want to hate on any high school players but I couldn't care less if anyone from Montini goes down. I'm tired of seeing Kaneland lose to them every damn year. Speaking of...55-0 shit kicking of Yorkville. Things get real the next 2 weeks with Sycamore and ultimately Morris in week 9.

Ottawa football a combined 14-0.

Ottawa Pirates 7-0

Marquette Crusaders 7-0

I'm pretty sure this has never happened. I know it hasn't in my lifetime.

Glenbard North beat WWS last night in OT for the first time in 12 years. Big game this week against undefeated Wheaton North.

20 year homecoming party for LT (Lyons Township) tonight. Haven't watched them since I took my helmet off at the end of the Leyden game senior year.

Awesome time last night with my son at that Glenbard North game - came down to GBN hitting a 35 yard FG with 5 ticks left to beat previosuly undefeated Wheaton North and secure at a minimum a share of the Dupage Valley crown.

Where is this AP poll? Whatever one I saw had Morris at #1 last week but I do not think it was AP.

Batavia beat St. Charles East to go to 8-0, & they have a gimme next week -vs- Elgin. Nice win for Glenbard North over Wheaton North.
High School Football playoffs right around the corner!

Batavia isn't the only local 8-0 team. Kaneland showed up without their starting QB against a very good Sycamore team Friday and convincingly beat them 30-7. The regular season comes to a close next Friday in Maple Park with a huge showdown with fellow 8-0 and 2nd ranked in 5A Morris.
