No-I felt confident that he was going to be a solid major league player when they brought him up. I didn't think he was truely ready to be promoted yet, as he was striking out even in the minor leagues, far too often. I was more than a bit concerned that he might be so overmatched that it might destroy some confidence. But he has developed at the major league level now, which is not an easy thing to do and looks like he might become a solid player faster than I had expected. I don't know that he's going to be an All-Star caliber player year in-year out. But I do expect him to be a solid, above average player with exceptional defensive skills.

So far, yes.

Its hard to even comprehend a Cub player taking walks and getting on base like he does.

I still think he'll end up being a 4th OF/starter on a lesser team type guy.

Nothing wrong with the underrated Angel Pagan

The end of the season is 30 days..so that is not enough at bats to say one way or the other, he is what I thought he would be..a 4th outfielder...don't have much faith that he will be much more than.

Statistics are statistics. If it were Adam Dunn on this same streak, Francis or good dolphin would be talking about how hot he is compared to the rest of the league.
Adam Dunn has been at or near the top of all of MLB in HRs, RBIs, Walks, and OPB since the beginning of the season while playing on a team that has been in or near first place all year.

A 24 year old prospect has had a good week playing for a team that is 30 games out.

I will take the former over the latter 100% of the time.

Even with Brett Jackson having better stats in almost every single offensive category since he came up on August 5th? For how long does Jackson need to have better stats than Dunn for you to switch?
  For 120+ games like Adam Dunn has done this year.

I'm sticking to his ceiling being Drew Stubbs.

Jackson is having a nice stretch but would like to see him over an extended period before saying he's going to be similar to any one player. Call me skeptical, but having a BA below 200 and OPS of 722 for the season is not making me think he's more than a 4th OF on a good team.

I agree with you on the K's number. Unless you have crazy power (40+ HR), you need to put the ball in play.

He averages 4.3 pitches per plate appearance. By comparison, the team averages 3.76 with the best being (league average is 3.8).

Jackson is seeing 4.30 pitches per plate appearance. He obviously don't have the AB's to qualify, but as a point of reference, the leading NL outfielder who qualifies is Jason Kubel with 4.28 per AB. 3rd place is DeJesus at 4.10 as a point of reference.

Considering all NL players, Kubel leads the NL with his 4.28, 2nd is Posey with 4.26 and 3rd is Dan Uggla with 4.20

Expanding to MLB as a whole. Adam Dunn actually leads all of baseball with 4.42, Mark Reynolds 4.38 and Curtis Granderson 4.34.

I would have guessed Yukellis and Ichiro were on top of that list.
