Tall Midget was able to find one of the few professions where a refusal to conform is the key to making it.

My girlfriend senior year of high school wanted to live inside a John Hughes movie. On our first five or six dates she made us do all this stuff from Ferris Bueller--the Hancock Building, A Cubs Game, the Art Institute, etc.

I have no idea what that means, but it sounds....unpleasant.

Lost in your Eyes was my first dance...then he kissed another girl at the party. We had an on off relationship for 3 or 4 years after that.

I don't know about the Heads being underrated. They were probably the most critically acclaimed group of the late 70s/early 80s. 77/More Songs About Buildings and Food/Fear of Music/Remain in Light/Little Creatures were all huge critical successes.

I love the Heads.

Cars are also genius. "Dangerous Type," "Moving in Stereo," "Let's Go," "Candy O," "You're All I've Got Tonight"--all fantastic songs.

If you like them, check out the Fountains of Wayne, particularly a CD like Welcome Interstate Managers. It's kind of a combination between the Cars and Cheap Trick/Material Issue.

TM, just to clarify, most people of my generation remember the Talking Heads for their music video for Once in a Lifetime and don't credit for some of the incredible stuff they produced outside of that song. Wasn't really around for the 70s and 80s so maybe they were acclaimed more than I remember.
