There are some decent acts though, DB. And they can also make for a relatively cheap night out. I know its crowded its not the best venue, but you can still see some entertaining shows. I've seen Ted Nugent at Ridgefest a couple of different times, and its only $10. Politics aside, he still puts on a pretty goddam good show. In recent years they have had the Cars, Cheap Trick, Lt Dan Band there. Nothing that is gonna make you clear your calendar for sure. I agree that for some bands its depressing to see, esepcially if there is a significant lineup change. Still though there are some good acts/bands going around at these places.

And Rick Springfield. EVERY. DAMN. YEAR.

Got tickets for Atlanta as soon as I heard. DeLuna Fest is only selling admission for all three days at $160. Hopefully this ends up hurting sales enough to change that. Atlanta to Pensacola Beach is an easy drive.
Not sure why they wouldn't announce all of the Festivals they're doing at once. Yesterday they announced that they'll be co-headlining Made In America (another festival) with Jay-Z in Philadelphia. I fully expect to hear that they'll be playing somewhere that isn't a 12 hour (or 18 for Pensacola Beach) drive from Chicago.

At the risk of being called burrito I just found out Ingrid Michaelson will be playing Turner Hall
in Milwaukee on October 5th and think I will be getting tickets. Very cool venue, very small for
a ballroom style setting. It is a Friday night which is awesome, weeknight shows in Chicago and
Milwaukee usually keep me away due to work.

Edit - 8/1 purchased 2 tickets....

Saw Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. Outstanding.

I have no idea about most of them either, just going to see Pearl Jam- that's what sold me the ticket. Whoever else I happen to see along the way just comes with the package. I wouldn't care in the least if most or all of the other bands cancelled.

I wanted to see Band of Horses and MMJ in Milwaukee but was in Vegas for work. As for your upcoming shows I'd
check out The Avett Bros. in Atlanta and City and Colour in FL. Sounds like you have a lot of choices though. Enjoy.

Pumpkins in Chicago. Likely the weekend of Oct. 20th, from what I can piece together. Doesn't look like it will be at the UC since Hawks and Bulls have preseason games. Probably Allstate.

If VIP tix are available, I think I might plunk down the $500.

Just plunked down the cash for two tickets to the Smashing Pumpkins at Allstate Arena.

Oceania Premier VIP Experience Package
One Premium Seat or GA Floor Ticket
Three Song Backstage Performance (not songs from set that night)
Mini Press Conference (Q&A after Performance)
On site VIP Concierge
One Exclusive Autographed Tour Poster
One Exclusive Smashing Pumpkins Tour Passport
One Commemorative 3D Laminate
One Copy of Oceania, the new Smashing Pumpkins CD

Aside from a small show at Double Door next Sunday, this will probably do it for me for tickets this year.
