I don't like much of Billy Joel, but "The Downeaster 'Alexa'" is a pretty cool song.

I like it because it sounds more like the Four Seasons than Billy Joel. Kinda like "Hungry Heart," which sounds more like them than the rest of the bilge on The River. (Yes, I know both songs sped up their vocals.)

Billy Joel made me a fan for life when I saw an interview with him where he was talking about growing up in New York. He said he and his friends went to the races a lot. And then he made it a point to say that he wasn't talking about thoroughbreds. Harness racing was the king in New York. Roosevelt and Yonkers!
