The whole premise is asenine though. IF and thats a big IF, the Colts were to do it that means that Cutler's value is worth the top pick in the draft. If that is his value than why would you want to trade that for a what if scenario in Luck?

And experts debated about picking Leaf over Manning. Alex Smith was a #1 pick who is just starting to finally pan out. Nothing is a given in the NFL, regardless of what people say before the draft.

Ryan Leaf, at last check, isn't in the NFL after 1 miserable season in San Diego. As for Alex Smith, I heard the word "BUST" mentioned in the same sentence with the former #1 overall pick until this past season in San Francisco. It doesn't always work.
