I wanted fractional points, you wanted divisions. What exactly do the divisions do?

Try and keep up:

1. Divisions make sure you play the right people the most amount of times. You play everyone in your division twice, everyone in the other division once (just like most sports leagues from the pros down to beer softball) - that way when you "win" your division, you actually beat the people you play against. In a "one division" league, a team may play the top 3 teams twice but the bottom 3 only once, and miss the playoffs as a result. The scheduling is completely random in a "one division" league.

2. The division winner is one of the top-2 seeds in the playoffs (and guaranteed to make the playoffs as well). A division winner may only be 5th and miss the playoffs entirely in a "one division" league, and again, that may be de to scheduling.



Still waiting on whether regular season ties are good for a player/team or bad. Keep thinking..........

I've told you before,twice actually, I was in league that the guy had 3 ties in one year. It affected him making the playoffs over someone else. He would have actually made the playoffs had it not been for ties. I know you keep trying to say that's "THAT's NOT REAL FOOTBALL". Well again I will tell you we aren't playing real football where the Bears score a point for every ten yards Matt Forte rushes for or when Cutler throws a TD pass that they only give Chicago 4 points, but if he rushes it in they get 6.

I'll answer the question for you: ties don't matter. They aren't good or bad. In fact, I'l get all crazy and say that when it does actually matter, they are gonna help 50% of the teams and they are gonna hurt 50% of the teams.

We should get rid of wins. I was in a league once where a guy made the playoffs because he had more wins.
See how that dumb that sounds?

edit: let the record show, CIJ brought this up today. He brings it up, I respond, then he blames me for complaining about it.
