Jimmy, you should probably go away again for a few months. The Sox bullpen, full of rookies, has been pretty good all year, and they have also overcome a number of injuries to the starting rotation (including the opening day starter), and you suggest they should get rid of the pitching coach?

Laugh out loud!

I made it clear. He's a RAT! That is why he will be launched.Pitching coaches are a dime a dozen

Jimmy...

He helped a first time manager to an unexpected playoff berth and less than a year ago Reinsdorf pretty much chose him over Ozzie.

He's in the family. He goes nowhere unless he wants to

I appreciate Ivan's courage. While I would not want him in my foxhole, I certainly would like him to be in the next foxhole over.

Sox will have this thing wrapped up before the Bears play again!

For the Tigers to win by 5 games, and thus allow Steve to say "I told you so", the magic number is 16.

The early game after a bad beat for a team that is in Chicago without anything to play for should be a win for the Sox today.

Is this the first Tuesday day game of the year? Was it always a day game or did they move it? This really sucks.

Moved due to Yom Kippur.

I'm still keeping the faith, though my enthusiasm as been greatly diminished with the last 2 games. I thought the Dunn HRs Monday nite would really have given them a boost.

Sox are losing this much more so than Detroit is winning it. Still in the race. I'll be there tonight (most likely) so hopefully they can put together a win streak.

Sox definitely lost that game on their own last night with all the walks. As a Cubs fan, it was even painful for me to watch.

I don't think I would go to one of the final 4 home games this year if they gave me tickets and picked me up in a limo to get there.

I wonder how Ventura's inexperience has affected this playoff run?

Well, it looks like pitching Santiago to give everyone else extra rest was the wrong decision.

It was okay, but the leash wasn't short enough. He struggled from the start. You have a million pitchers on the team. And to me the game was lost when you had a critical situation and brought in a minor league pitcher. This isn't May or June. Here's the fucking game. Right now. We'll deal with the seventh and eighth when we get there. You can't bring Omogrosso in there. That's a situation for one of your best guys. It has to be Crain or Myers or Thornton. Let Omogrosso start his own inning later on if you have to.

JORR, so how many MF bombs did you let fly when they were sacrificing in like the 4th or 5th inning?

I felt a sense of resignation. Then in the 7th or 8th they had Ramirez square to bunt and lost Rios on the bases. I'm not going to let it raise my blood pressure anymore. Whatever happens, happens.

Omogrosso got out of that inning giving up 1 run. ALL of the pitchers sucked last nite. You cannot walk 12 guys and expect to win. Hawk was furious last night, and rightly so. He is a fan and people who don't like Hawk just don't understand him. He went on a rant about how they were in a playoff chase and walking guys left and right. He was beside himself. So was I was I as a fan.

I went to bed in the 7th inning hoping to wake up to a surprise win. I had a bad feeling about that game in the first inning when they didn't get more than 3 runs. Once they let Cleveland tie it in the 6th, right after taking the lead, I knew it was about over.

Who knows what will happen in the next week. Its amazing that the Sox have lost so many games yet still could be tied for first place by the end of tonight's game.

In 2008, Sox went 11-15 in September, and were 1.5 games out of first on the last Sunday of the season. They won the division.

In 2007, the Twins were 1 game out with 3 to play, they won the division.
In 2006, the Twins were 3 games out with 4 to play, they won the division.

SOX!

When I see Omogrosso and Septimo warming in when they have the lead, that's not a good sign. I think someone said it above, but that was a situation to bring Crain in and clean it up.

And people will bitch at Ventura about that, but the blame should lay at Coop. He should realize this.

Win or lose, my comeback is the same; Steve, you are a chicken shit loser.
It would be just like him to come back to the board now as the Sox are struggling.

No, the blame should be on the guy who has final say. If Ventura thinks it is a dumb move he should get on the phone and tell the bullpen to get someone else up.

So you think Ventura is making all those calls on pitching changes?

I think he does what Coop wants.

Bases loaded 0 out, they got out of the inning giving up 1 run. I think he made the right call there. Really can't ask for much more getting out of that sort of jam. Its not Ventura's fault the Sox walked 12 guys.
