Last week:4-2
Season:10-8; 6-4 college, 2-2 NFL

Bears
I will be on the Bears this week, but will look for a better price like a flat 7 (7.5 now). The week one win predictably caused over-valuation for the Bears vs Packers and the losses of that game and Forte have turned that optimism to pessimsm and, it appears, under-valuation. It is the NFL. What you saw last week is not what you will likely see this week --from the Bears or the Rams. I make this line 10,so the 9.5 opener seemed right, but perception, even among some pros, is driving this down. My valuations may be wrong, but I am not going to radically adjust them after two games. I will buy no later than Saturday though and try to catch the trough at 7 or maybe 6.5. I will not be surprised to see market resistance or buyback if it gets to 7 and also expect resistance Sunday morning when the off screens open to take the 6 and 7 figure bets.

So anyways, nah, I didn't mean anything by it, I was just surprised that Irish Boy was so quiet about the absolute thumping that Arizona St. gave the Illini.

The refs had a couple really bad calls that game.

UCLA -7 -120
Bruins looking undervalued at 3-0 ATS and OSU at disadvantage having played just 1 game and that win vs. Wisky devalued by Badgers' lameness.

Bad teams under. These are two pitiful teams playing their annual rivalry. Bob Davie has brought his boring "ball control" offense to the Lobos. He can't decide on a quarterback, and the two of them threw 12 passes last week. Roll clock roll. These teams are bad on defense, but their weaknesses match up with the other team's offensive weaknesses. NMS can't defend the pass, but the Lobos can't and don't throw much. The Davies can't stop the run, but the Aggies have a lousy off. line and can't run. As the dog, I expect Davie to try to control clock and keep the better Aggie offense off the field. A truly lousy game, but bad games pay just the same at the window.

Iowa -7, 2nd half
Hawks down 9 at half thanks to penalties and turnovers and horrible defense. Are they really going to lose at home to the Chips?

Purdue -16
North Texas- Florida Atlantic Over 49
Western Kentucky - Arkansas State over 57

Yes I bet on Pooh doo, a truly mediocre team laying doubles. I must be crazy.

Herd out-gaining PooDoo but 2 pick 6s put Doo up 28. Will they run it up? will Herd turnovers continue? Will Doo win by 36? Don't think so.

last week:3-5. half points are killers.

Season:17-17, 14-14 college, 4-4 NFL

Northwestern +3
Cats have Better offense by a lot, better special teams. D advantage for Pedophile State is significant, but not enough. Can PSU put up 25 or more to cover?I don't think so. Cats outright. Yes I have a taste onthe ML along with 2 units on the Cats.

I'm not one to tout my own prognostication ability. I suck.

But, I give a lead-pipe, gold-pipe, copper-pipe lock that Penn State loses by a minimum of 20 points this weekend. I've watched them. I've watched the teams they've beat. I've watched the team they are playing. PSU is bad. Real, real bad.

It looks way too easy to take WV and the seven, especially after last week. Texas is the play.

we have agreement, uh oh.

This is a penn st team that lost to ohio and virginia...teams not ranked nearly as highly as I have NU.

WV gave up 63 to Baylor. How many might UT score? Texas is superior on both sides of the ball to anybody WV has played so far. Smith is a nice QB, but it will look very different if he is running for his life, can't find many open receivers and is sitting on the bench because the WV defense can't get off the field.

Just an FYI, this will be my last visit to this site again for some time. No more picks, though with my record, you won't be missing anything. Just to explain, I will leave any public place where the proprietor allows blatant racism, and that includes an internet web site. I had left this site a few times before because racist photos were allowed here and I thought the racsim had been cleaned up. Sadly, the racist photos are back and nothing appears to be happening to prevent them. I would never stifle someone's right to express themselves, but I do believe business proprietors have a responsibility to have policies that prohibit blatant racism in their establishments, such as the posting of racist photos. I choose to no longer visit any place that does not. Best to all. Good luck friends.

That's too bad. I guess I should be glad I only read about 20% of the board because I haven't run across any of that.

Good luck, Coast.
