And back then the Cubs took 2 out of 3 from the fiesty New York Metropolitans to finish the season a respictable 59 and 103. That team featured two eventual hall of fame players in Ernie Banks and Ron Santo just as the 2012 Cubs feature two future Hall of Famers in Castro and Rizzo. Truly the era of amazing Cubs baseball is upon us. ANNO CATULI.

Rizzo and Castro will win just as many playoff series as Banks and Santo did with the Cubs.

And as many as all of the great comeback POY candidates with the Sox.

This raises a wierd point. Will the one game wildcard playoff be considered a 'series'?

Probably not. I guess its going to count as a postseason game, but not a serie? I dunno....that is strange.

Its either that or 2 teams play 163 regular season games each year. But that could throw all sorts of wrenches into batting titles, HR leaders, K's leaders, etc.

If it just becomes a 163rd game then you cant really say that they are in the postseason. I think it has to count as a series even though it really isnt.

Cubs have been calling that play in game from a few years ago "the playoffs" for some time already

Rizzo and Castro will win just as many playoff series as Banks and Santo did with the Cubs.

Or any White Sox player for 87 years

It will be the wildcard "round" or "play in" game.

Getting shut out in back to back games by a team with 106 losses? Ouch.

Not only did the Cubs manage to score a run against the team with 106 losses going in, but they won a game in October!!

Walk off....all the momentum is theirs going into next April!
