Yes. Lovie will be highly sought after when he is available.

I'll just be happy if the Bears can actually hire their first choice for head coach. I think...

Tim Beckman.

Hire him quickly.

As quickly as possible.

Yea...in that case, I'm good with the 2nd or 3rd choice. Then again, that could be Zook...or Tice...or Marinelli.

I would love to see the guy in my avatar get the Bears job, but I have a feeling he'll be in SF for a long time.

What is the difference in Lovie's offensive philosophy and the Giant's offensive philosophy that has won 2 superbowls in recent years?

Well I would say the Bears have gone from "running off the bus" to "Rex can pass us to some wins" back to "manage the game for the D" to "let's be the high-flyin' Rams offense of 1999" back to "let's run to setup the prolific-big receiver pass offense" and two games later back to "Manage the game for the D".

Stubbornness. When he sticks to a shitty plan or shitty player when it's clearly not working. Heck it could be a good plan but if it doesn't work it's no good.

Giants philosophy includes dominance on the lines. It makes average RB and DB look great.

I think he is too loyal to his coaches and players even when a coach or player is not getting the job done (i.e. Mike Martz and Tommy Harris). Plus he's bad at lying to the media.

Mike Martz was fired. Tommie Harris was cut once he was due for a big roster bonus. Terry Shea was Lovie's guy and he was fired. Bob Babich is Lovie's guy and he was demoted.

True. But Martz was given a second year and that was a mistake. Tommie Harris was completely ineffective when he came back from surgery, yet remained on the team. In time the right decisions were made, but Martz should have been let go after the first season and Tommie Harris should have been cut the first year back.

I tried this out listening to the first hour in my car. I charted -

17 - "I'm gonna tell you whats..."
11 - reference to line stunts (including "line tricks")
3 - Agains

I couldn't remember the others and I might have missed some "agains" early on amidst the barrage of line stunt talk and "what-telling".

Lovie's relationship with the Press. He talks to them like they are in 3rd grade. He speaks in limited, simplistic sentences. The guy has been here 8 years and we hardly know anything about him. BUT,under his direction, the Bears are usually very competitive. Sure,a few klunkers here and there but they seem to play tough more often than not.

His fashion sense. The coaching outfit he makes the staff wear is about as bland and dorky as you can get. Get rid of the damn white velcro shoes already.

I don't want to start a war here, but, it should be pointed out that Dr. Ken accused Lovie of changing his offensive philosophy too often, while Spaulding accused him of being stubborn.

Just sayin... :P

The phrase "line stunts" cracks me up, as if at the snap, everyone starts popping wheelies or balancing balls on their noses.

I see it as the same. He has't had an offensive philosophy. At best you could describe it as defense gets takeaways and score or hopefully Hester will.
