Anyone watch the premiere?

I think this has the chance to be a good show, but there were a few things that stood out to me.

1. The chick who plays the female lead is not good. The rest of the cast seems solid, but she is awful.

2. All of the clothes they were wearing looked perfect. If there hasn't been electricity in 15 years, production of things like leather jackets or T-shirts should not be readily available. And all of the clothes were perfectly clean. I would expect hand me downs are normal now, and 15 year old clothes would probably look at least a little beat up. The nerdy dude was rocking an AC/DC shirt that looked brand new.

3. The black guy who is the militia leader is a badass. Hopefully he doesn't bite the dust early.

1. Yea she sucked. I thought most of the cast sucked.

2. Yep, way too pretty. I thought that when I saw the previews months ago. At least on Lost they dirtied everyone up. Its a huge red flag that they had the cast look so clean and pretty. To me, that shows a fundamental lack of awareness by the show producers which is a bad sign going forward.

3. The black dude???? Geez, show a little respect for a great, WELL KNOWN actor, Giancarlo Esposito. He played the villain on Breaking Bad for several seasons and was amazing. He's come a long way since his early days in Do The Right Thing

Overall, the show has SOME promise, but I'm guessing its going to suck. What annoyed me was that they really missed the boat on what could have been a much better show. Instead of starting the show 16 years into the future, they should've had the show focus on the immediate aftermath of the event. That would've been much better. The flashbacks they are showing now help a bit, but I think they should've just stuck to the present and skipped all the future stuff altogether.

It looks like next week's episode will show some of the aftermath based on the previews I saw.

I can't speak for shakes, but I'm gonna give Arrow on CW and Nashville on ABC a whirl.

I can't see that show being any good.

Is Nashville the one with Connie Britton and Hayden PantyHairy?

Agree on both. Both are getting good reviews so far.

Also add in Survivor and that's more than enough for Wednesdays.

Starts tonight.

Back to Revolution.

I watched it and will keep watching for now, but I'm not sure I really like it. Plus, for all the promo that NBC is giving it, Monday's seem like a strange day to put a show that a network thinks is really good because of the chunk of viewers they know they will lose to football.

As far as the actual show, I can understand the idea of a global EMP of some sort "killing" everything, but I don't know why that would keep new from being built. Maybe that's some big secret to be explained. More nit picky, I know it's been 15 years, but in a two day walk from their "village" to downtown Chicago, it looked like they were walking through rural Canada. Even if most of the people died or left, there would still be buildings, roads, rubble 15 years later. Same with the village. It looks like a typical cul de sac of a half dozen homes, but there is no sign of another building for as far as you can see when they do the wide view.

If this show makes it to Christmas I'll be shocked.

It's NBC. They don't have anything else to run instead. It'll probably get renewed.

Did anyone bother to watch this Monday? If so, did it get any better or does it still suck balls. Need to decide if I should even bother or just hit delete.

I haven't seen Monday's episode yet, but I think the plot of the show is interesting. My only main gripe is the chick who plays the lead actress, she's absolutely horrible. I doubt they will kill her off though. I'm interested to see how all the flashbacks play out also. How did Juliet from Lost get separated from the rest of the family?

Well I'm not Shakes, but I think Modern Family is consistently well written and acted. I'm really starting to take a liking to Vegas, and I know CBS shows get gutted here, but I really like Hawaii 5-0. I'm still pissed that they shitcanned Prime Suspect. Maria Bello is hot, and she played the part well. I even liked the hit or miss Aiden Quinn as her superior.

Vegas is Tuesday and Hawaii Five-0 is Monday.

But I do like both of them.

I watched the Vegas pilot episode, and I thought it was terrible. I recorded last night's episode, and will give it 1 more shot.

Pilot episodes are tough because they're introducing all the characters and are usually filled with hokey speeches like the Mayor gave to the DA about Dennis Quaid.

I know i've said this before, but it really bothers me that they are supposed to be in the chicago area, but wherever they go, there are almost no cars or buildings. Also, i know many people would die, but there seems to be about 50 people living in the chicago outskirts. I've lived in my house for 12 years and it has the same roof, siding, bricks as when we bought it. Hopefully it doesn't disappear in 3 years like everything on the show.

Now a prudish parent complaint about the show. I let my 10 year old watch it with me and I knew going in there would be some fairly tame violence. However, I'm a little suprised that a network show that starts at 7 (prime time "family" hour) uses the words laid, dick, bitch, etc. so often.

I saw the pilot and have the rest on DVR. I liked it enough to give it another chance but wasn't wowed by it. Seems like a lot feel similar to this.

The lead actress is horrible but the others are good.

Great point about the clothes and how good everyone looks.

Would like more explanation of why nothing has been restored and rebuilt for 15 years.

I was one of those geeks who enjoyed Jericho. I wanted to like this too... but it is abysmally bad. It actually makes the Postman look good.

I think it's decent. The lead actress and the kid who plays her brother are bad, but the rest of the cast is solid. Giancarlo Esposito has been great in it.

Give me one piece of dialogue in that entire show that is not trite, banal, or otherwise non-gag-worthy. The acting is abysmal, the writing is abysmal. This should have the feel of something dark... yet all the shots are in a sunny fall afternoon. You have the ability to create a real badass badguy... and General Monroe looks like a GQ version of Jay Cutler. The ONLY bright spot is Giancarlo Esposito... and his backstory couldn't be more stolen from ever other post-apocalyptic show/movie. It's bad.
